Re: General sound sync question

I'm playing Sam and Max using ScummVM, and I'm noticing that the speech is slightly out-of-sync with the characters' mouth movements. I'm not necessarily looking for a specific solution to this problem, but rather some leads on how I could make it better. Is this particular issue a function of the ...

I know that, I don't come from a coders background so I don't know whats involved in porting things over. I'm just a fan who misses these types of games and was just wondering if games like beavis and butthead were a possibility. Maybe ScummVM will become the Mame of point and click games. One very...

Proposed FAQ additions

There have been a number of reports about ScummVM misbehaving on some hardware under Windows, but that these can be worked around by telling the SDL library to use different video and audio drivers. This information ought to be in the ScummVM FAQ but isn't. I propose that something like this is adde...

Re: Sound problems.

I've been using ScummVM to run some of my games lately, and I've been having some problems with the sound. It sounds really choppy, even though I know it's not. I was just curious if there are some specific sound settings I need to use or if it might be a problem with my sound card. You don't menti...

This Project works more quickly to the Sarien project, i need a ScummVM like motor for the Space QUest 5 !!! :) Maybe so, but having the Sarien and FreeSCI developers rewrite their code for the ScummVM framework would give them less time for new development, not more. The current ScummVM developers...

See the Discworld article on the ScummVM Wiki. The short version is that it might very well happen, but that at least I haven't heard any updates on it for a few months.

Re: Will support...

When will it support: Laura Bow Adventures like Laura Bow and the Dagger of Amon Ra? xDDDD Thanks! A more realistic question is probably, "When will FreeSCI support Laura Bow Adventures like Laura Bow and the Dagger of Amon Ra?" Either way, I don't know. Their Web page lists The Colonel's...

That feature could happen before ScummVM 10.

So what you're saying is that ScummVM 10 should look something like this, and that's it?

If anyone's curious where that image is from, see this review.

Re: FOTAQ sound issue...

I got the Freeware Floppy version, mainly b/c of bandwidth. I could hear the opening "cinematic" just fine, but then when I got into the part w/ the movie star, the sound just crapped out! HELP! "Crapped out" isn't a very helpful description, unfortunately. Since it's the floppy...

Re: Day of the tentacle crashes

For a start you could try with the original MONSTER.SOU file to see if it still crashes. If it doesn't crash then the MONSTER.MP3 file is probably corrupt and you'll need to recompress it. To the best of my knowledge, ScummVM won't ever attempt to open any file called MONSTER.MP3 anyway. You should...

Re: SCUMMVM 10

i was just wondring if any 1 knows when scummvm 10 is comming out No, in the past releases have been made "when they are ready". 0.7.0 was released in December 2004 and 0.8.0 in November 2005, so a good guess might be that the next major release will be by the end of this year. Whether it...

Heh. I can almost hear John Cleese's voice from Life of Brian: "What's this, then? 'Romanes Eunt Domus'? 'People called Romanes they go the house'?" :)
