I think you guys are overestimating the original posters knowledge about programming just a wee bit guys :) It doesn't seem like he knows what the word compile even means(no offense). Sorry, wasn't trying to be a dick ;) I don't have access to a windows system atm, and am assuming a linux binary wo...

So that prgram on Ebay isn't much use then? if it helps it's called Rincewind's Sound Wizzard i maybe should have mentioned that in the original post. Sorry. I'm not sure why they're charging for that program, as it seems to be a pretty straight-forward utility. Erik's right though, just take a loo...

The SF.net terms of service would not allow us to host that content there, thus we would have to host it on our own webspace, and pay for the traffic. Sure, we do have a certain quota for free, however: Lots of medium sized files downloaded by lots of people equals loads of traffic... not sure I'd ...

However my own stance is that to gladly provide link to such central repository from our site if any. Just a note of caution, that this has to be a dedicated resource with no traces to illegal content. Eugene Wouldn't that be more of a reason to manage the hosting? (to ensure that all content is on...

any news? The project's still going ... albeit slowly. We're currently rewriting all the actor code, as the implementation we did initially strayed pretty far from the original game, and has caused us issues as a result. We're always on the lookout for new members to the team because honestly, ther...

Wow, it actually works! And even (at least partially) for SC1.0+ games!
Now how can I strip the binary and get rid the 130 Mb EXE?

ScummVM is a VM in the sense that it reads bytecode from different games. As a simple example, we can mention the SCUMM engine which reads compiled scripts (bytecode) from resource files. Ah, but that would make the scumm engine the vm, not scummvm itself the vm ... and now we are in fact arguing s...

Wouldn't a VM assume that the content it's running is platform agnostic in that it's compiled to a custom form of bytecode that the VM runs? The VM itself is compiled against a number of platforms, whereas the bytecode package could be ported as-is and assumed to run exactly the same. The engines in...

Re: Programming a new game
ScummVM isn't really meant to be something to develop new games on; it is a virtual machine to run various old games on multiple platforms. I'm sure they'd always appreciate someone working on a new engine to run an already existing game, but as maximus said if you are looking for something to faci...

1) Learn the programing language C++ 2) Read all of http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Developer_Central 3) Download the sourcecode to lua or use the lua engine from Residual http://sourceforge.net/projects/residual 4) Using the steps from 1,2 and 3 write the engine. Um, being a good programmer isn'...

I just downloaded the demo for this and it works with Wine. It looks like it's the start of the game as well. I've never heard of it before. For some reason I'm reminded of Little Big Adventure. Another game for me to huntdown. More importantly I posted to say I'm impressed with the work done. How ...

So how's it going alex? Been following the progress since you moved the project to google code and have to say the progress up to this point is really impressive. It's good to see that there's quite a few people contributing. Keep up the great work, guys. It's always good to know there's interest i...

Testing Full Throttle (Version B/English) using 1.0.0svn42590 on Ubuntu 9.04 (x86). Found a palette glitch. Steps to reproduce: 1. Follow Maureen to the Mink Farm (trucker takes you, steals your fuel hose) 2. Maureen takes off out of the barn on her bike 3. Follow her, she gets away, Cavefish blow u...
