I am not sure, but as far as I know there's a fundamental difference between reimplementing and refactoring. Maybe you mean the engine should be refactored first? The engine "should" be refactored, but according to the author, he'd rather you didn't. So just to be clear, YES I KNOW that t...

Another point is would the original AGS author be fine with it? I know it's released under a open license, but actually I wouldn't feel good if we support it when the original author is strictly against it. I think that is probably the most important point to consider before anything else is consid...

As long as AGS still actively developed I am rather reculant to include it in the official ScummVM source tree for the above mentioned reasons. Of course everyone is free to have its own fork of ScummVM. It seems that AGS breaks functionality constantly, but games that are compiled with a certain i...

Indeed, the license is not a problem. The main issues currently are 'who' and 'when' ;) I'll create a branch in my fork, but i promise nothing :P From a cursory examination, it looks like the author began this as a dos-based project, then slowly ported it to windows (and hacked in linux/osx support...

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized you weren't ASKING if the licenses were compatible, but stating that they were :P I'll leave the post here though since it has a link that others may find useful. My apologies. What about the license they use? I have no time to check it right now, so not sure what versio...

I have a small suggestion (not a very good one though). Since your doing a simple 2d game (no need for 3d acceleration) have you tried to use the your debugger + the virtualbox snapshot ability to "roll back" the debugger? Is this already possible? I don't think I can debug this at all us...

Serious Callers Only: do what Fingolfin suggested (create a blog), but post the link here as someone may still find this interesting, even if this forum isn't the ideal platform.

It's always interesting to get some insight into why developers join/contribute to a project.

That was a great interview guys. I found it far more interesting than the Floss Weekly interview a while back, but that's just my personal opinion ;)

I just want to point out that the Hungarian translation I started was only for testing while I was trying to migrate the code and get it to work with the latest trunk. Hungarian's not ...
