Re: Core Audio vs. MT32 Emu on a MAC

One problem is that the default output level was almost inaudible for me, so I hard-coded a "gain" factor which is probably too loud in some cases. I did submit a patch to make the gain factor customizable, but so far there haven't been any feedback. I've just tried to apply this patch to...

I see no need to Install ScummVM in the applications (Programs) folder, it is just that the ScummVM installer suggests so. But this is probably also not a that good idea, especially when you just need to unpack all scummvm files and run it. So you could place it anywhere you please already, why ass...

To be honest I would have been far more sympathetic to *nix if most of their users would not leave a bad impression on the internet. So far, I regulary observed *nix users insulting Windows users when they only say the word Windows. That lead me to believe that I also get this kind of reply when I ...

True, however you still require users to have permission to write either to C:\Windows or C:\Windows\ScummVM.ini respectively. Now which way do you think a non-technical user is going to go? Either work as an Admin, which is a bad idea. Or give himself full writing rights to the Windows directory. ...

Update2: This is the file generated in my savegame folder: ƒCƒ“ƒfƒBŽw?” Beautiful, isn't it? It is 25 bytes long. Update3: This "beautiful" file gets generated by indy4. Maybe this is the japanese version of IQ-POINTS??? I haven't followed this thread at all really but your beautiful file...

Well I couldn't think of a nice way to say that ISO images, however they are obtained, aren't supported. I shall know for next time (I'll nick your forum rule #0 post)!

Re: Core Audio vs. MT32 Emu on a MAC

I can also tell you that the Fluidsynth driver (after I finally got Fluidsynth to compile correctly on OS X) also sounds pretty awful using freeware SoundFont collections that I've tried. In my case it's probably down to the speed of my machine, a wee 900MHz iBook G3 :D FluidSynth works much of the...

Re: Core Audio vs. MT32 Emu on a MAC

Hi folks, I am a MAC OSX user and just tested MI2 with "Core Audio" + "Mixed Adlib Midi Mode". The music sounds absolutely superior, if not better than years ago with my original LAPC-I soundcard!!! I am beginning to think, that the core audio option provides almost the same qua...

Re: COMI on scumm?

I have extracted the file from both CD's but instead of having "MONKEY1.000" and "MONKEY1.001" a game; Instead I now have "MONKEY3_1.iso" and "MONKEY3_2.iso" for each CD and the SCUMM port does not recognize them. How do I change these so they can be recogniz...

Re: Probs with Curse Of Monkey Island

Hello there! I have some kind of problem with "The Curse Of Monkey Island". I've played the game until I've completed the second chapter. I got asked for the second CD and inserted it. Guybrush says something and I get asked for the first CD. I insert it, someone else says his stuff and I...

Re: stumped about 0.8.0 with Mac OS X

Please pity a poor noobie. I swear I've read the ReadMe and the FAQ and the back posts here and I just can't figure out how to get ScummVM working on my Mac. I'm using a G3 iBook with OS 10.2.8. I downloaded ScummVM 0.8.0 and the tools package. I'm trying right now to use Sam and Max. I copied the ...

Besides what Jimbob said (use smaller jpegs), those screenshots are, uhm, well... screenshots. In particular, they look more or less just like ScummVM looks on my OS X box (OK, there is this black border around the graphics, big deal)... Far more impressive would be real pictures, taken with a came...

Yes, I suppose the Readme is the first thing to check when encountering problems.

COMI Datafiles

You need to copy the contents of the RESOURCE folder of BOTH CDs to your harddrive. You do not need the CDs of COMI to play the game if you have done it right. Also, running COMI from CDs is not recommended, and causes a lot of problems. Best regards Joachim More details on the exact datafiles you ...
