Re: monkey island 2 : ultimate talkie edition

while it works, it lacks sound effects When I last looked at it, most of the sounds were in a format you couldn't get any decoders for free for. For some reason, they choose to have them in a different format to the voice acting. and the beautiful music of the Special Edition of MI2 Those are not S...

The overture is MT-32 exclusive. SCUMMVM can translate it on the fly to a GM or GS device.

Re: Zak McKracken VGA Talkie?

On GOG, in the language table, there is an x at audio and a ✓ at text. So why would one expect voice acting anyway?

Re: How to get widescreen in ScummVM 2.0

However the aspect ratio correction should still be making a difference for Zak McKracken. Unless, he plays the FM-Towns version that is. Eww why would you WANT to stretch it?? :P Some games might actually look better. Some 320x200 games are designed with square pixels for some reason, and a 16:10 ...

Re: Secret of Monkey Island CD with adlib

The adlib.ims is there because the game uses Adlib for some sound effects. Also the CD version is SCUMM V5 while the disk versions use SCUMM V4, which had a different MIDI engine. And the CD version has infact no MIDI music at all. That said, I did convert the MT-32 tracks to Adlib for my Ultimate T...

Re: What ScummVM is from technical point of view?

It is an interpreter, but also an emulator, ie. it interprets game scripts and uses emulation for most of the sounds.

Re: Fate of Atlantis SFX

Scumm Revisited should be able to extract them: http://jsg.id.au/scumm/scummrev/index.html Monster.sou is basically a bunch of VOC files with an index table in front of it, so you could also open the entire file in a sound editor as an 8 bit, 11025 Hz file. The sounds in atlantis.001 are MIDI. The e...

In some cases, the executable from the demo version will work, though. It may work flawless, it may work with graphic or sound issues, or it may not run at all. It's worth a try, I'd say.

If you can reproduce this with DOSbox, it is probably a script bug. If not, it would be a ScummVM bug.
You should file a report anyway, as ScummVM already has some script overrides in order to fix bugs like this.

ScummVM can only show original save screens when they are scripted in the game. Not all games did this.

Yes, haven't you realized yet that Disney doesn't care about fans? Not exactly. I know at least one case when they did care. There is the older German dubbing for Arielle. A track they always said, they didn't want to use anymore, but fans asked a lot for it. And it ended up on the Blu-Ray as a bon...

Re: MI2 - Ultimate Talkie Edition v0.2 | Language selection

ScummVM currently has support for this unofficial version built in, but unlike for the talkie version of MI1, language selection is not permitted - i.e. ScummVM forces the game to start in english (game text and subtitles). This is probably because there is no translated version of the MI2 talkie, ...
