Help with KQ5 Floppy text version (ID KQ5-1)

Hello, I have the bug problem where the game freezes after you've talked to Cassima @ the end of the game (just after you've killed Morack). Doing some research, I discovered that it is a known bug, involving multiple problems in the resource.001 file. There is a link from this site where someone st...

Since it sounds like it's a problem with your midi to usb cable, or some setting in between, I don't know how you expect people here to be able to help you. It's not a problem with ScummVM. Personally I would suggest posting this problem in the forums for the eMAC or with the company that handles th...

If you play the actual IIgs versions of the games, using the actual IIgs files, then the sounds are all correct to the originals. A lot of people are just using the pc versions with IIgs emulation and that doesn't play them correctly.

I don't think the old booter versions can be read through a regular disc drive. Has probs reading the data on them. I have KQ1 & KQ2 booters from the PCJr saved as image files and they run perfectly through DOSBOX.

I believe the red label is the pcjr one. If you can look at the files on the disc, then we'd be able to see if it's supported by scummvm.

For the pcjr booter, I'd suggest making a disc image, and running it through DOSBOX.

The original grey box version of King's Quest was a self booting game. Didn't use DOS. And was pretty much only playable on PCJr or Tandy computers. So, can you be more specific as to what computer system the grey box says it supports?

It doesn't matter if you're asking where to get the roms or not. You admitted to using a rom, which violates rule #0. So you won't get any help here

I just tested your theory. I deleted memory.drv and ran LSL5 through ScummVM. It still asked me if I wanted to setup a password and I chose "Why Bother". The game ran just fine

It's a self bootable disc. I don't know how to view the files, but you can always get it to run in Dosbox. If no one can help in these forums, I'd suggest asking in the Dosbox forums. They could probably tell you how to convert it into a disc image and have Dosbox treat it as a bootable disc

Exactly as already mentioned. If you have both setup correctly, then the MT-32 music should sound exactly the same in DosBox as in ScummVM. Do you own a real MT-32? Sounds like you have them both setup differently.

I know I put my age already, but I guess I'll add a little more about my adventure game history. Again, I'm 38. I had 1st tried the Zork games, but I just found them rather boring and couldn't really get into them. The very 1st adventure game that I really got into was The Crimson Crown. It just use...
