Re: Ultimate game versions/Ultimate audio versions
Also known as "Schwanensee", just like the debug code from the EGA executable.eriktorbjorn wrote:Of course, if it's the music that you're after you could probably get it from just about any record store that sells classical music. Just look for Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet.

For general interest, I just copied the Monkey Island 1 track listing from my German FAQ : Amiga version: ScummVM supports this (in contrary to the mod file, yet) track1.mp3: Opening Themes track2.mp3: Chapter Screen track3.mp3: Guybrush and Elaine (Intro) track4.mp3: The Journey track5.mp3: The Loo...

Or is it me who just grew up as a child with that music, and now the glorious moments of the past blind (deaf) me? Maybe that. I first played the Monkey Island games on the Amiga. I know Monkey2 has missing many tunes of the game, but those which are left in sound really great, even not perfect, si...

Re: Ultimate game versions/Ultimate audio versions
Sam'n max: VGA CD is the best (duh) and the optimal audio settings are afaik mt32 and default. If you merely have a cheap wavetable, MT-32 might sound better than that, of course. Though the soundtrack was composed on a Sound Canvas, hence a good GS-Wavetables will sound the best with this game. Fo...

Though, it should be possible to patch the graphics, ie. exchange them between the two versions.

As there are some missing takes in the game, were they forgotten to be recorded at all, or are they on tape, but just not implemented in the game for some reason? If those takes do not exist at all, is there any chance, they could be recorded finaly, ie. are the original actors willing to do them? E...

The advantage of using my one would be that it is directly reading the bits and bytes from the disk because it's a build-in device for the PC. If that's the case, does that mean, reading the DDS tapes (on which the English recordings from Simon2 are on, iIrc) is just a matter of the right software?...

Fades and flicker effects on MI2 FM-Towns
The fades seem to be disabled like it is with the Amiga version. I'm talking about those fadeouts of the LA logo and the Monkey Island logo in the intro as well as the flickering at the woodsmith and also the lightnings when digging for the bone (where only Guybrush flickers). However, running the F...

considering that at least in the case of MI/MI2/Indy4 they don't seem to offer any advantage over the regular (and common) PC versions Monkey Island 2 does. There are a lot more sampled sound effects. The PC versios has only a few like spitting, screaming and a burb. Most others are cheap sounding ...
