snover found a bug that meant these knobs actually didn't do anything in recent ScummVM versions ... so they were removed. I am not an expert, but I don't believe you actually need to adjust anything anymore to enjoy the soundtrack. In any case, let us know if you're getting better quality on an old...

It actually replaces MIDI tracks with digital tracks, which required modification in the game engines to support it I didn't know that! That's awesome! I don’t know if the SCI engine supports playing digital tracks. It ostensibly does ... I mean otherwise my proof of concept doesn't work. I didn't ...

I actually started the replacement for QFG4 with the Aubrey Hodges orchestral version. Not all the tracks are there and I need several play-throughs to to get everything right. I seem to have lost interest halfway through for some reason but if there is interest I will pick it up again. When I am do...

Re: FatBoy BETA Soundfont updated to version 0.76

That's interesting. That's the fluidsynth version I am compiling with (there were no releases between 2012 and 2017)
I'll try to upgrade and see.

I downloaded UHDv3.30.7z and extracted it but strings says "Revision 3.31"
Did I download the wrong file?

The command line of fluidsynth is

Code: Select all

fluidsynth [options] [soundfonts] [midifiles]
So you basically run

Code: Select all

fluidsynth /path/to/soundfont.sf2

The drums finally don't need more cowbell in my LoL test case :)

Good job balancing the volumes!

Minor request: can you rename the SF2 file before 7zipping it to include the version? maybe something like UHD321.sf2 or something.

It is difficult (I have to use hashes) to figure out if I am using the latest one on all my systems that run ScummVM :)

Here's some quick comparison videos for my test case using ScummVM right outside Gladstone Keep: UHD3 soundfont SC-55 soundfont SC-55 (RSCVA) You'll hopefully notice that the UHD3 video has "more cowbell" :D. I am not sure what is causing this. Bonus: Apple DLS Soft Synth ("CoreAudio&...

but I am running the game in GM mode for music... you are, right? I run the game in ScummVM with fluidsynth defined as my GM driver. The volumes are correct for me I am not talking about the overall volume/gain/etc. Just the relative volume of the percussion vs the other instruments. This sort of t...

I've tried this with Lands of Lore (not a fair test case but one of my favorites) A cool track is the Northland Forest (just outside of Gladstone). Listen to it on an SC-55 to get the "what it is supposed to sound like" sound as far as the volumes of the different instruments. ( youtube vi...
