Re: Audio Issue. WASAPI can't initialize audio client
Hey all fellow ScummVM users. I'm having a problem with the audio in ScummVM. The message which ScummVM is giving me is: WARNING: Could not open audio device: WASAPI can't initialize audio client: 蠠澉ǝ! This question came up in the ScummVM Discord some days ago. The solution (then) was to use t...

Re: Frontend compatible
Hello, I don't think there's currently any plans for this, for the standalone ScummVM App. However, as far as I know, lately the ScummVM core for RetroArch has become part of the ScummVM source code repository and, thus, has been keeping up-to-date with the ScummVM recent versions. (That is my impre...

Re: Foreign characters - keyboard
Currently there is no support for this in the virtual keyboard. You'll have to use a physical keyboard for it (usb or bluetooth) or use one of the apps that allow setting up a number of special custom buttons that can be displayed on screen at all times (but I'd really go with the physical keyboard ...

Re: Hosting the music.rsc from inherit the earth?
Yes, I've just updated our wiki page too to use the wayback machine link (the one I've used is from 6 May 2013) Also, for the record, the "music.rsc" that is installed with the currently available "trial version" from the wyrmkeep.com site, is identical to the one from the second...

Re: Drascula - the Vampire strikes back - wrong dat File
Hello, I have problems starting the game Drascula with ScummVM. At the start, the report comes that the .dat file is 4.0 and not the expected 6.0 Version. I would like to know where I can download the right .dat file. Can someone help me with it? :?: The game can be fully and legally downloaded fro...

Re: Few issues with 2.7.0 daily build
Screen rotation has been implemented in the 2.8.0git daily builds, and will be part of the next official release (no ETA). If one does not mind losing their current config and added games list, they could try the development builds and provide feedback on the feature. But keep in mind, the developme...

Re: "Save" option is gone
Could you provide some clarification if possible: - Did this not happen with these two games prior to ScummVM 2.7.1? - Do you have this issue with all (other) games on Android? - Can you check on a PC, with the desktop version of ScummVM whether this happens there as well? It's possible that an engi...

Re: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - AMIGA version is not working
The rule about not supporting pirated versions of games is very clear though and your request is in violation of that rule (#0 here: https://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=17) ScummVM does not and will not provide support for such versions and you can find out why here . This is not up for discu...

Re: Newbie with questions
I own Manhunter 2: San Francisco (which is the sequel), the floppy 3.5" discs version -- and coincidentally an uncle of mine had the floppy 5.25" version. It wasn't my favorite of the Sierra adventure games, and it was quite obscure to figure out. But I stuck with it, and... got absolutely...

Re: Install Instructions not working
I think this is why we suggest using the "apt install" way since, apparently, that one tries to take care of the required dependencies, while "dpkg -i" does not. It also does look like there was a mispelling for the ubuntu 23 deb package (looking at the command that worked with d...

Re: Install Instructions not working
Good morning, I downloaded the ScummVM version for Ubuntu 23.04 and 22... but neither will open. I get the following errors: twilson@texlaplnx01:~/Games/Sierra$ sudo apt install scummvm_2.7.1-1_ubunt23.04_amd64.deb [sudo] password for twilson: Reading package lists... Re: 2.7.1 WinXP-win32 builds don't work under WinXP SP3
Thank you, again! I may give it a try in days ahead. However, there's something I'd like to ask the development team about: whoever commented on my bug report says that as of now WinXP builds are deprecated, then he/she recommends to use Win9x builds instead. Well, as I told you Win9x doesn't work ...

Re: 2.7.1 WinXP-win32 builds don't work under WinXP SP3
I think you could build with disabled updates (ie. using --diable-updates with config) and that particular issue would go away.
But I haven't done it myself.
You'd have to have a toolchain ready for building for Windows XP, with any required libraries configured for XP compatibility.
