Well, the reason why Sony is removing the OtherOS is already working on a custom firmware to bring back OtherOS (which also means other groups will use his work to go for running illegal games), so Sony only made the problem worse for themselves by removing the option. Not really. Geohot (the moron...

Me too, and that was possible on the 'phat'PS3, but now Sony is taking that away from us, even though we paid for it.

With the demise of the old PS3 Linux installations, will anyone ever figure out a way to run ScummVM on PS3s? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/03/28/ps3-firmware-v3-21-update/ I myself have a Slim, so I'm unaffected. But considering Linux was the only option for Phat owners, now nobody will be a...

While the Amiga Version of Search for the King looks better the der DOS EGA Version i would not recommend to buy and play the Amiga Version of Altered Destiny. It is damn slow and the gfx are only EGA! Well, I just checked the amiga version using WinUAE and the Dos version, but the amiga version lo...

I wonder, which one is the better version?

I see the PS1 version has resource files, and the Saturn version has single files.. But watching the Saturn video's (through VLC) it seems they are half the resolution (but I think they are being stretched (anamorphic)) of the PS1.

Most of the games you get for PS3 are cheaper on the 360 anyway. Plus, the 360 games usually find their way into the bargain bins quickly, while most PS3 titles never do. Well, just check around then, because I've got 60+ games now since januari when I bought my PS3, and I've never payed more than ...

First it was backwards compatibility and now their removing the hardware/drivers for running Linux on PS3. It's only the drivers that are lacking for running Linux, there was/is not special hardware that was needed. They can spend 80 million on advertisement for the slim, but the can't spend a few ...

yeah, you can only hope they will try to spend some money on the needed drivers (can't be that difficult).. them bastards for removing it.. The PS3 is the only console that gets fewer options with every new revision..

And as for porting being easier, I wouldn't be so sure. The game is not too big, but it's not small either. Think of all the backgrounds and sprites, music and scripting, and you have a huge project on your hands, especially if you want to keep it faithful to the original. AGS is a great set of too...

Ah, ScummVM is a way playing the games for free? As I know, ScummVM only gives the games support on modern machines. You still need to have the original data. There is no support for pirated software here. Oh so you say scummvm doesn't work with pirated versions? I really don't think Lucasarts will...

Forget YDL. Use Xubuntu . The latest ScummVM build available from the Canonical repos (0.11 or 0.12 IIRC) works nice in Xubuntu 9.10. Still have to fiddle around with the aspect ratio though (scanlines look messed up on my config). But how much faster/better is xubuntu compared to the latest YDL fo...

Don't count on it, as the later Broken sword sequels were all in 3D, so will the New BASS then..

Pffff.. Wii... Pfffff... Wake me when he talks about it coming to the PS3 or Xbox360.. They are also good enough for playing adventures, so we can enjoy the games at least in a better resolution..
