Yes, I know all of this is annoying. But we are facing so many seperate problems that I really can't take care of them. Even if I spent all my free time on it, I could never finish it. ;) I actually wrote a small program for me that copied ComI etc from DVD to the HDD because the FTP solution doesn'...

What's the advantage of using a 64 bit version instead of a normal 32 bit build?

scummvm --joystick
doesn't work here either, but e.g.

scummvm --joystick=1
works fine.

I have no joystick to test it with, but at least it starts instead of showing the help.

jeez, it's freeware. So if you think it's necessary to supply everyone with a full bass package, rent a webserver and offer it there. We won't stop you.

I am not sure... but I guess that's an SDL related question, not a scummvm specific thing.

Your CPT file is most probably broken. Please download it again from www.scummvm.org and tell us if it makes any difference... Or maybe the game data files are corrupted, but I'd rather assume that it's due to the cpt file. You didn't tell us anything about your system either. Are you using windows/...

Okay, I actually did manage to hack up the music system so that it outputs midi files. I'm not sure if they really comply with the midi standard, but they work fine in my winamp. ;) Here they are. I hope they use the kind of timing you wanted, edweird. I multiplied the tempo constants by 16. Not sur...

Actually, I was thinking about the same thing.
The higher sample rate doesn't really make a difference when you limit the frequency bandwidth and distort the speech beyond recognition...

It doesn't really matter, I can make ScummVM look for both, +homebrew and +scummvm

You should also make sure that your data files were correctly copied, especcially if your cds are severly scratched..

I've hacked up a music test menu for BASS, to clear up any possible confusion with the list I posted here earlier.
Here's a windows binary (I hope you even use windows...)

Use it like you normally would to start BASS, it'll bring up a screen where you can select music instead of the normal game.

No, there is no list... but I made one for you: Section 0 (intro): 2 Tracks The intro music Second part of the intro, is played after the helicopter crashed. It always stops somewhere in the middle with ScummVM. I suppose it was made to be longer than the intro, because the Amiga back then would nee...

Because lossless audio compression sucks.
And as stated above, the kind of compression that may or may not get used is completely irrelevant as long as we don't have anything that we could compress. This is not the time or place to discuss and/or decide on this matter.

"Extracting" the midi data from beneath a steel sky isn't that simple, because BASS doesn't use midi data, but it's own proprietary format, "Sound Images Generation 2" by Tony Williams. Apparently it was created as some kind of Amiga thing which got ported to the PC platform. Scu...

Wow, your sample does sound good, edweird, especcially considering the short time it took you to make it... I like it. And it made me very curios about what else you can come up with, if you decide to do a full remake of all tracks. :) So far we have absolutely no idea how much time it'll take us to...
