Did someone say Roland MIDI? My little collection of vintage Roland MIDI modules... :D ScummVM is awesome. I couldn't believe that now Sierra games also work. In SQ4 even the scrolling is spot on! Not too fast, not too slow. That was a pain to get perfect with DOSBox. Also mixed Adlib mode FTW for M...

On a side note, I'm playing the DOS version in Windows 98 right now, and it's very cool. Though, the BGM volume seems to be really low, even at max. Hmm I don't have this issue. I tried Adlib mode and that works fine. And so did my MT-32. After launching the game I needed to increase the volume (I ...

It's well worth buying again!

I almost fell out of my chair when I had this game running on a REAL DOS machine with digital speech!

Really hoping that there will be a way to get MI2 to run under DOS with speech...

Yup thanks!

My post was mostly to clarify what the issue is.

I don't want readers to jump to conclusions regarding Roland modules and what not ;-)

Here is the issue in all it's glory: Real game Adlib: FM spit sound Real game Sound Blaster: No spit sound whatsoever See this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTBcqDPXMTs ScummVM : Digital recording of spit sound See this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36niZEFZ9Ls So the question is, ho...

I read on queststudios. That the CM-32L had more effects in MI2 than the MT-32 (the Spit noise). I use a CM-64, but that wasn't the problem. The issue is related to the mixed Adlib mode. And does that not mean we need a MT-32 vs LAPC-I/CM-32L (ans all the other devices with the 33 extra sounds) swi...

Re: No more link to GOG

On the other hand, it means that means we don't have to answer "bug" reports for them. :) Hmm I wasn't aware of these bugs... I just tried the Steam version of Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis and I remember why I didn't play these versions. The mouse cursor can move past the left and ri...

That's good to hear! Can't wait for the new version. A tip for Nvidia users though. You need to create a custom resolution of 1040 x 1050 in the Nvidia control panel AND enable aspect ratio scaling. When you set this resolution you should have a perfect 4:3 image with black bars on the sides. I used...

Re: No more link to GOG

Lucasarts is one of the few that have their own software and don't rely on ScummVM or DOSBox for their games (SE Monkey Island, Last Crusade, Fate of Atlantis and The Dig). For the non-SE versions, we can thank Aaron Giles for the Windows ports of the SCUMM games. Beyond SCUMM, they don't use an up...

Re: No more link to GOG

I remember reading some interviews with GOG founders and they were bragging about how hard they are working to make old games compatible with modern computers yet they did not mention DOSBox or ScummVM. They would hardly sell anything without DOSBox and ScummVM. That is true... Lucasarts is one of ...

This just shows you how weird this industry is. On the one had they complain about piracy and missing out on "2nd hand sales". On the other hand the industry doesn't seem to care about platforms that allow us to legally obtain vintage games. At least GOG didn't use DRM, so all my games are...

Wow that's quite sad indeed...

I guess their platform was catering for a tiny audience, not enough to keep it going.

Steam has a special at the moment. $7.49 for both SE.

Just reading the readme file to get my head around this "patch".

EDIT: Great project!

I wonder if they could the same thing for MI2 at least for the DOS version? It would be awesome to have MT-32 music + voices.
