Are the costs really more expensive now ? Reminds me of the telephone in the Dinky Island jungle. You can ask for the reason adventure games became that expensive. The answer was all those VGA graphics. Considering, there is even more animated stuff now than it was in the classic version, plus live...

For the Mac version, it's kinda strange, but illustrates the change of politics in games : The Secret of Monkey Island in 1990 was released at the same time on Atari ST, Mac & PC. Are the costs really more expensive now ? Moreover, it's digital distribution, so… Concerning the language localizat...

Jonatan wrote:Hmm, I think I read that the PC version will only be distributed as a digital download. If I'm right there's not going to be a DVD version at all.
It'll be also released for Xbox Live Arcade, and all games which are release on both are digital only.

From what I've heard, there would be a graphic filter added in the 360 version. The question is : will it be worth compared to MI running with ScummVM and filters ? How about the audio : will it be the Adlib sound, or will they put a better one like the MIDI ? But the most important : will they real...

That's it !

In french, "Mortality Bytes" is "Mortellement Vôtre", the accented o was bugging ScummVM. With standard letter, it launch without problem.

But the strange thing is : with the Windows build, I keep the name with the ô, and that works.

I just tried to launch Discworld 2 with the lastest daily build for Mac OS X, and all I got is a black screen. Here is the log I've got : User picked target 'dw2-fr' (gameid 'tinsel')... The thing is that I have the disks, but I never had the documentation with it. I've found pictures of the wheel needed to pass the protection test, but that's a bit annoying to use. ^^ I guess ScummVM is more likely to bypass the protection for PC and Mac versions, I just tried Indiana Jones and the...

Secret of Monkey Island Atari ST version & protection

Hi all ! I've tried the Atari ST version of Secret of Monkey Island on ScummVM, but I was very surprised when at the start the protection was fully enabled, whereas for the PC & Mac versions, I've no problem with that, I don't even see the protection screen. I know that ScummVM is supposed to by...

Well, first, go back on the download page, and give a try to the bunch of freeware games on it. You'll have 4 games for free and 100% legal.

Sorry if I am late to the party, but is Discworld officially supported now? There seems to be a lot of people talking about it in various threads, but it's not on the compatibility list yet. Is it supported by the latest release, or still just daily snapshots etc? No, it is not officially supported...

21 here !

I still remember my first adventure game, it was The Secret of Monkey Island on Atari ST, with its 4 floppies, and the fear of error during the floppy change…

One was posted here two weeks ago. That build was only for Intel Macs. I would also appreciate if someone could make a working Universal Binary (or PPC) build. Well, I don't think it works wih DW even on Intel, because with this build, I'm unable to play any of the two Discworld games on my MacBook.

edit: I think I misunderstood you at first - I don't think they'd give up the rights on Monkey Island as a brand because the older games still are intellectual assets and development out of their control on further games might change their value. Here in France, they're reselling some 90's LucasArt...
