Even if q-gears won't work as part of scummvm, I hope you keep working on it as its own project. The PC port really was a piece of (expletive deleted) :P

28 here. Started with the older AGI adventures. The first boxed game I actually owned was KQ2 (still have the discs somewhere :P). Hell, those games started me down the path to software engineering as well (wrote a crack for PQ2 when I was 11 since I lost the manual and got tired of constantly waiti...

I just saw the offical post on the freesci site about the merger. Though I've been watching the daily builds and commit logs, I'd still like to officially congratulate both teams on what I'm sure will lead to a massive resurgence of interest in old Sierra titles :)

Kudos guys...kudos!

This is very very exciting news. Even more exciting since I only asked about the usability of the GSoC code like 2 weeks ago, then all of a sudden ... pow ... sci is added as an engine :D Good luck guys. I'm sure I speak for everyone who's been "nagging" the developers for the last few yea...

If you're looking for a (free) alternative, you could always give wine a shot. I personally haven't tested Grim Fandango using wine, but according to the AppDB , it'll install and run. This doesn't necessarily mean it'll run as smoothly or consistently as it would under VMWare/Parallels/VirtualBox/q...

Don't mean to bump an old topic, but I've got a question. I know that this was a GSoC project and that jvprat has done some work on freesci integration in the past, but neither project was completed (I'm guessing). I'm just curious if someone picked this back up, would this be accepted by the ScummV...

If mo-cap games kind of count towards the 3d genre, then i'd throw Phantasmagoria and Gabriel Knight 2 into the mix. Neither was all that good to say the least :P Gabriel Knight 3 was actually 3d, and wasn't bad. Edit: Actually there are quite a few titles from Sierra that could be added here as wel...

Wow, I've never even heard of this game, but from what I've been reading, it looks awesome. It also looks like it's available from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00093CIJE/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1229790982&sr=8-1) from a few people, so I may have to pick this up. I guess t...

I'd have to say 'The Longest Journey' for me. Haven't gotten into an adventure game like that (other than via ScummVM :P) in a loooooooong time.
