Amazon sells them. I bought a new copy from a zshop for 4 quid just a few weeks back.

If you find those DXA files too large, or not fast enough, I'd encourage you to try the ones here:

http://www.wss.co.uk/scummvm/

These ones are 1/4 of the (encoded) size of the others, and so may perform better.

I have no experience of either of the phones you mention, but PocketScumm hasn't been written to take advantage of twin cores - so I strongly suspect you'll only see performance equivalent to it running on a single core machine. On the other hand, my 200 MHz ipaq here does a storming job of running ...

The Casio Cassiopeia E-115 has a MIPS CPU. The current releases of PocketScumm only work on ARM based CPUs. Sorry.

You might be able to dig up an old version that works from Arismes site...

Beside that, I can't find the svn version you are talking about. Is there a snapshot of it ? (I don't have a PC to compile it myself). The main version to try is pointed to at the top of this thread: http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=3791 An alternative version to try is referenced in this ...

I'm surprised. My understanding was that all WinCE devices since Pocket PC 2002 were ARM only.

At any rate, the experimental sound changes I alluded to in the previous message are that I have ARM coded them - so they wouldn't be applicable to a MIPS build anyway.

Sorry,

Yes, it's an ARM build.

Do you seriously have a WinCE based machine that's fast enough/got enough memory to run Scummvm that *isn't* an ARM based device?

Experimental WinCE build

Hi all, I've just uploaded a WinCE SVN build of Scummvm to the following site: http://www.wss.co.uk/scummvm/ The build (scummvm_070519_EXPERIMENTAL_SOUND.exe) is a standard build from SVN, with a couple of changes: * Firstly and most importantly, it has some experimental sound mixing code in. This s...

I haven't done measurements on the libraries as used by Scummvm, so other people may know more exactly than me, but I have some previous experiences with MP3 and Ogg decompression on ARMs. Ogg decoding using Tremolo (an ARM optimised version of the Tremors lib) takes at least 50% more processing pow...

Random idea: change the zoom options

Hi, I was struck by an idea yesterday while toying with Broken Sword. Broken Sword is a 640x480 native game, which ends up on most WinCE devices being played on a 320x240 screen. This can make it hard to find everything that is on the screen. Scummvm contains 2 keys to allow the game to be zoomed to...

I'm using ScummVM on my Dell Axim X51v VGA device which runs windows mobile 5. The games I am playing are Monkey Island 1 and 2, Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2 and Sam and Max. A 624MHz device. I guess we'd expect that to work really fast, except when the effort of keeping that huge screen size starts ...

The key handling has been improved in the latest SVN build (of 0.10.1, I believe). Certainly it copes with more keys on my MDA Vario II than 0.9.1 did.

Have you tried the new version? (See the first thread in this forum)

What devices are people playing on? And what games?

Hi all, Over the past few weeks, I've been toying with optimising various bits of the WinCE port of SCUMMVM for ARM devices (building on top of the excellent work that Knakos and others have already done!) I'm using a 400MHz Xscale based device, so while everything I try seems to be running full spe...

and the y axis is still inversed even if you rotate scummvm to inverse landscape? Inverse landscape is actually the natural format for me. But, yes both landscape and inverse landscape have Y reversed. Actually, in testing this, i've noticed that if (once Y has become inverted), I toggle the screen...
