I'd never rule out my code being the cause for breaking anything. I think some of the PSP backend changes were remnants of Bluddy's original plugin patch which needed tidying up.

Whatever the cause, I got the same crash as Tithe with the old build but I've just done a new one and it's fixed.

This isn't likely to be caused by my patching given that the Windows version Tithe used to test it on also had the same patches + the Discworld engine is unchanged anyway. The problem is probably specific to SVN1.1. It's a pretty old build now and I gather some fixes have been made to the plugins co...

This is very nice Bluddy. It's a huge improvement over the old keyboard for me. I've not tried the original Danzeff one anywhere so I can't compare with that but this is easily good enough to make SCI games playable as well as giving access to all the function keys that I've been hacking in for ages...

Renaming it aatinsel didn't help so I thought I'd try deleting all the other plugins instead and then it started up ok.

DW2 crashes my PSP before it starts up for me on a phat just like it always did before I did a tinsel only build. If it's running ok on a slim it suggests that the patch isn't freeing enough memory for some reason.

I'm not using any plugins so turning them off sounds like a good idea. I've got a better memory stick since but I can't imagine the one you are using can be much slower than the one I finished the game on. If you haven't done already you could recompress the video and audio using scummtools which co...

I feel like I should be starting a new thread for this but I'd like to see if we can get this one read more than the forum rules. Anyway, Bluddy has been hard at work and has released a dynamic loader patch which has been incorporated into SVN (version 1.1). This isn't in the overnight builds as the...

I've played the whole game on a phat. It shouldn't be as bad as all that, especially if you are using one of the versions with Bluddy's patch. Not sure I can recommend much though.

Which version of 5.00 M33 have you got? You could upgrade if its an old one. It's working for me on 5.00 M33-6.

I've had another look at the LOL controls. There is nothing set up in the PSP input handling to cope with specific games - all the controls apply across all games. So what I've done as an easy solution is introduce a LOL mode which is activated by pressing triangle, square, circle & cross simult...

As you've noticed it works but I never did finish sorting out the controls. I'll take another look at it in the next few days. The music patch should work ok but I've only played the early sections of the game. Some tracks might potentially have been mapped incorrectly, if you get any music in the w...

Pix, can I still hope for your Kyrandia hacks incorporation into the newest nightly build sometime around? Unless you can change EA's mind there is no chance of that ever happening. If scummVM is ever less than squeaky clean legally they would risk being shut down. I don't imagine EA actually care ...

Is it? It's dead-slow here... It's been a while since I tried it but a few months back the movies were only about 5-10% off full speed so the sound stuttered. Walking around the house and the like was fine, a little slow but probably faster than it was on my 386 back when I played the game the firs...

I'm waiting for what Pix has up his sleeve with Tinsel engine optimization. Think you've got the wrong of the stick as I don't recall mentioning optimising Discworld 2. Good to hear that its now running ok though - pity I'm using a phat psp. Guess I'll have to wait for someone to write a dynamic en...

If you think thats hacky you should see how I implemented some of the soundtracks. I'd have to tidy them up if they were ever to be official but if I knew they would be supported, then I'd be happy enough to attempt it. Its a question of legality more than anything. I know EA don't want anyone distr...

I've really not done anything in terms of optimisation. I had forced the speed to 333 Mhz in the same manner as you have now done yourself but thats it. In terms of the function keys - I've just added F1-F10 into the empty squares on the number/shift & number virtual keyboards as a quick and dir...
