Well, I don't know, as I said - "I imagine", although having looked, the default for that option probably dates back to 2003 or so. And you're both arguing while everyone else is still asleep, but I guess someone who knows might be around later. :-) In Europe at the moment, so it's early ...

Yea DOSBox doesn't seem to have an Option for "only" Adlib. It emulates a Sound Blaster as default audio device.

I agree with you... In the past I used this setting to get certain sounds in Monkey Island 2 when played in MT-32 mode. On a real 486 with MT-32 certain sounds simply don't exist in the game (but do exist when you play with an Adlib card). So in this context the setting enabled "extra sounds&qu...

To ask the obvious question: you all have the "mixed adlib / MIDI mode" checkbox checked, right? Not so obvious to be honest... It does solve the issue though. Still I have to agree with monster99f150. It's not logical / obvious that you have to tick "override global MIDI" and e...

I've only tested SQ4 (specifically the CD version from Steam's Space Quest Collection) and have reproduced the issue. I wouldn't call it "beep sound" though. It sounds more like it plays the sound effects you would get if you didn't have a digital sound device (like a Sound Blaster). So yo...

Hmm maybe a corrupt file?

Copy the "Last Crusade" files into the directory again and see if the problem went away.

Good work!

CMS sounds just like through DOSBox: Everything has a higher pitch compared to the real thing :)

Thanks!

Atlantis was a brain fart

What place do you recommend checking for these updates? I did a google seach and a forum search on CMS and Game Blaster and didn't find anything before posting.

Game Blaster / Creative Music System

I doubt many will use / try this audio mode, but I noticed that this option seems to default / use Adlib emulation.

Tested this with the 1.3.1 version and a few games (Space Quest 3, Monkey Island and Last Crusade).

I assume this feature is simply not implemented...

It's the PC version from the Steam Space Quest Collection.

EDIT: Also with Kings Quest 4 and I have submitted a bug.

Not submitted anything yet. Not sure if it's needed for daily builds? Here are some screenshots: First one shows the cursor ging past the sides. The second one shows the giant cursor and the last ones the display corruption with Space Quest 3. I also got a few crashes when trying Sierra games. But t...

Some things I noticed (Only just tested todays daily built).

Space Quest III and IV give me display corruption. Maniac version works totally fine though.

The other thing I noticed is that in Maniac Mansion you can move the mouse past the left and right border.

Sorry I didn't realise...

Yea the Steam pack is a pain. The music sounds totally different, some sort of midi emulation :-(

They use their own Windows interpreter to run the game. It works ok, but often mouse clicks don't register. Quite a shame.
