I use LinuxPPC, so I can't use it (because if they release it, it will be Linux X86 only). Graphic adventure developers must know there are a important market in users of non-mainstream operating systems. Same occour with Sam & Max and Bone :( But the main concern here is whether or not the gam...

Hardly matters for a new game that is likely to support Windows XP and maybe MAC. Anyway I would sooner have a console version :) The purpose of ScummVM, it seems to me, isn't primarily to make the games playable natively on Win32 (which this will surely be from the start), but to make them nativel...

I've never played the PC version of 2, but I guess the PSX versions are indeed lower-res. It's also only 1 disc. Definitely low-res, then, or it wouldn't fit. Some PSX games do have the odd property of really using high-res graphics but because of the limitations of the PSX hardware it only shows i...

Re: Horrorsoft Games ala Elvira

I like to know if maybe the old Horrorsoft (Adventuresoft) games will be supported in the near future? (checked the search function bit couldn`t find anything related to Elvira or Horrorsoft, maybe I just skipped to fast through the results. If so please link the Topic in here thx!) I don't think i...

Does DW2 work in Dosbox? Isn't there an issue with changing cds? I believe the best way to run DW2 is to use the Win32 version, which unfortunately doesn't work in XP. The discs come with two executables, one for DOS and one for Windows. The Windows one (supposedly) has some added benefits and uses...

I've got Discworld Noir working on my P4 3.2, Windows XP machine perfectly fine, no hacks, no no-cd patches, no problem. Just got good ol' Windows XP compatibilty switched on to put it in 640x480 256colour mode. What I have noticed is that the main menu crashes on options and load... if you want to...

A note or two about the wiki

I saw that someone had started a Lure of the Temptress module. Will this be merged into ScummVM and an entry added to the wiki?

The thing is... Discworld 1 and 2 are relatively usable under XP. They're still a bit obnoxious, but they'll run. Discworld Noir is unplayable on just about any current system. In an unexpected ironic twist, I've found the exact opposite to be the case. Discworld 1 & 2 are both unplayable on Wi...

Very nicely written letter. I like the game myself a lot. Your letter just moved me to check my copy, and I have to disappoint you. My expectations were correct: the game uses Smacker Video. Why would that be a problem? Rad Game Tools does provide a free-of-charge toolkit that is able to convert ex...

Since all they still do is Star Wars, they probably wanted a logo looking more similar to that Lucasfilm logo seen in the Star Wars Movies, I guess. Then they could just as well have gone back to the original LucasFilm Games logo, replacing Film with Arts. That logo was, at the time, pretty much a ...

BASS completely liberated (?)

It seems that Beneath a Steel Sky has now been completely liberated, meaning that both data files, original DOS executables and full source code are now publicly available for free. The announcement (sort of) was apparently made here: http://www.liberatedgames.com/forums/index.php?t=msg&rid=0&am...

I wish you every success with this restoration :)
Wasn't there a similar project aimed at Simon the Sorcerer? Oh yes, it was mentioned here. Any news on that?

Anyway, this seems like a good idea.

I guess the CD32 would qualify as a console, even though it could be expanded to a regular computer with a few addons.

I once spoke to the CEO of Housemarque, the company that made "Alien Incident". He did say that they wanted to freeware all their titles prior to (but excluding) Supreme Snowboarding. That would include "Alien Incident". They did have some trouble locating and acquiring all the r...
