Please excuse the bump on this old topic, but here's an update about Full Throttle on the Dreamcast. ScummVM 0.11.1 release, standalone Dreamcast CD with game data files (MONSTER.SOU with MP3 compression). Gameplay is smooth, there's occasional sound stutter but that mainly occurs when the autosave ...

Re: Will the GUI ever be seriously improved?
Strange, I thought I saw it happen one time with the demos collection... But yes, it's a very problematic thing that it can't handle so many menu entries....... is it really down to the DC's limited memory??? We had an old collection CD image with 19 demos on the site for a while, the last entry in...

Re: Will the GUI ever be seriously improved?
There's no CD image on the site like that, I've noticed if you have 15 or more entries in the menu it does get corrupted on the Dreamcast though.marzipan wrote:This menu corruption happens even with DCEvo's demos collection.

Some of the SVN builds for DC didn't play music in games (pre 0.X.0 SVN's), I can't remember which ones exactly (May/June builds), I tested quite a few of them and a couple had music disabled/broken. I didn't file a bug report because the next build I tried had music playing again, the official rele...

Glad to hear you got a working CD at last, which 1st_read.bin did you use from DC Evolution?. The reason I'm asking is that the BASS CD image is the only one with the latest official release, (it uses ScummVM version 0.X.0) the other CD images use previous versions. I do intend to update the other C...

Get the Dreamcast Plainfiles from the download section over here, extract them, and you should end up with 23 files within the directory. Here's a step-by-step mini guide of what to do next: 1 - Make a directory on your hard drive (named scummdc or whatever). 2 - Put the 'SCUMMVM.BIN' and 'IP.BIN' f...

19 demos on a Dreamcast CD
We've just released a new CD image at DC Evolution, it's mainly for anyone new to ScummVM on the Dreamcast, but I'm sure some of the hardcore DC fans will find it amusing too. You can check out the contents and grab the download here:

Just when I thought I'd complete this game on DC for the first time, it's a no-go. Even selecting to win the Demolition Derby via the cheat doesn't work, the selection comes onscreen, press 'Y' to confirm and the game freezes (doesn't load the next sequence), shame, but it's good to see the game get...

I'm really surprised how well this version on DC is handling Full Throttle, the only cutscene so far that caused a reboot is the 'chopper scene' mentioned in an earlier post. If you can put up with the sound stutter as the cutscenes load, the game is playable to a point, pressing ESC skips them but ...

Just to add to the test - I disc swapped an original Full Throttle CD and didn't skip any cutscenes. I'm not sure if it's allowed to mention in this forum but I'm going to rip out the game data files and build a standalone Full Throttle CD for DC to see if that makes a difference, although I don't t...

Full Throttle
How far has anyone got playing this game with ScummVM 0.8? I got to the fuel tower, touched the ladder to set off the alarm and waited for the chopper - the cut scene of the chopper arriving started then the DC reset. It was good to see Full Throttle play so well on DC (up to the reset), there's sti...
