Why?
There's no game, it's just a presentation of that concept, and it has been there for years.

Re: Option to copy and run game from memory

Disable sleep does only work for HDD. How many devices still use HDD? Most of them? The only thing that does work is using some kind of application to write to the drive so the drive doesn't go in to sleep mode. Not at all true. Even if what you claim about sleep mode would be true (which it really...

Re: Option to copy and run game from memory

Windows ( and maybe other OS) has the habbit to put the disks in sleep mode for power saving. The only way to work around this is to copy the game content to the memory to run it. That's not the only way, and it's not even the best way. Go to power management options, and disable power saving on ha...

Re: A Stealthy ScummVM Operation

Obviously, the biggest problem is that Operation Stealth is one of the most awful games ever designed, but that's not something ScummVM can fix. And now I can happily say I'm never playing it again until the day I die. Well, you can always play James Bond 007: The Stealth Affair and still kee...

Re: ScummVM & GOG relationship

[*] After some negotiations, which I must admit, took number of months (about 10 years ago), they started marking every game which is using ScummVM as such (take a look in the compatibility details). This gives even more credit to us than the GPL requires, and is a very nice thing from them. That's...

Re: Maniac Mansion and what is the computer in ed's room in DOTT?

8-bit and 16-bit computers were connected to small TVs more often than real computer displays, so having any TV style knobs is not unusual and on the other hand it tells absolutely nothing about the computer itself. Anyway, the computer is obviously a Commodore 64. The shape of that thing as well as...

Re: Thimbleweed Park free on Epic Games from 21st February

In other forums it has been brought up that most Epic games can be made DRM-free (as in run without laucher) by creating a shortcut and adding -EpicPortal to the target path of a shortcut. Which games actually work with this method, I can't tell.

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

Fairy Tale About Father Frost, Ivan and Nastya There are some serious issues with running this game on modern machines. I personally was lucky enough to encounter only a couple of crashes that were fixed by running the game in proper compatibility mode. Some other people have had bigger issues whic...

Re: Whatever happened to the in-progress AGS engine?

Indeed it's a bummer, if that has been dropped. I just played a bunch of AGS games, and at least one of them had unexpected performance issues with Windows 10. Playing it on an older computer with less CPU power and Windows 7 was surprisingly smoother, but it would have been so much simpler to just ...

Re: Infrastructure updates

Looks good, but what is missing is a link to the main ScummVM site.
Not that it's too difficult to manually change the URL, but the old forum design had that link up there, and at least I used it sometimes.

This would surely benefit from ScummVM.

My localized copy is so badly done and buggy that it was impossible to finish the game - I had to download a warez version in another language to be able to finish the game! :?

There are enough of those that are not 18+, but I didn't know that ScummVM had a "no erotic content" policy, because the Larry games for example are also supported. Leisure Suit Larry is a comedy, so it really doesn't count. But otherwise, I didn't know about such policy either, and it's ...

I think I wrote here before that I would prefer to have PNG option too, and some way to define a filename format for screenshots. I think somebody suggested sending a feature request. I never actually did it, as I thought it's so low priority that it will never be implemented. But if there actually ...

I don't think they had any real guidelines for naming them. Even those screenshots show how they use different naming conventions for the same game, like "Space Quest V" and "Space Quest 5". The same goes for "Space Quest I: The Sarien Encounter". Adding the number to t...
