Re: Sierra SCI games in OpenGL mode: floaty cursor

Ah, I see!
Well, in a certain way, it makes the cursor clearer for easier playing, so it's a feature and not a bug from a certain point of view :D

Thanks a lot for the explanation!

Sierra SCI games in OpenGL mode: floaty cursor

Hi there, I have been experimenting with OpenGL rendering + filters (tv2x, dotmatrix...), and I have found out that some games, like Sierra's Space Quest series (SCI) seem to exhibit an strange cursor that seems to "float" over the image because filter is not applied to it so it appears &q...

Skip warning when launching IF games

Hi there, Here in Spain there is a looong tradition of homemade IF text adventure games, which are now supported in Scummvm via the GLK engine, ZCODE, etc. I have been trying to play some of these games in .blb or .gblorb, etc, and they seem to work fine, but Scummvm ALWAYS yells at me that these ar...

Repeating console messages in LBA engine

Hi there, I have just built 2.5.0 for x86_64 on GNU/Linux + SDL2, and I am trying LBA for the first time. Everything seems right to the point I have played, except that these message appear on the console (the TTY console, not the internal Scummvm console!) everytime I enter a menu or a dialog: Fram...

Re: Adding some obscure games to ScummVM?

@criezy: I agree, yes. The most important part in free software development is having fun.
Each developer should work ONLY on what he/she enjoys, and no one can dictate that.

Re: Adding some obscure games to ScummVM?

I would be more happy, if developers spent their valuable time on something else than obscure Portuguese games in Portuguese only about history of Portuguese colonization. These games have a government propaganda purpose and if government sponsored them, they should finance a port as well. I second...

Re: Eye Of The Beholder 1 & 2 AGA Versions?

These games are only available via illegal download and thus cannot be supported, since we have a strict anti-piracy policy. My understanding is that these game versions are basically made up from 3 different games (graphics from the PC versions of EOB, sound data from the Amiga versions and some a...

Re: Gabriel Knight 1: restoring savegame is impossible.

I was able to reproduce the problem (or at least cause a very similar one) by removing the file called VERSION from my game. I guess ScummVM writes the information from that file to the savegame, but if it's missing it just writes random garbage there instead. I guess VERSION is a necessary file, b...

Hi Sev!

Thanks for answering.
I created an issue ticket here, as instructed, with an attached savefile:

Gabriel Knight 1: restoring savegame is impossible.

Hi there! Using latest .DEB version of Scummvm, 2.2.0 as of this writting. Also tried stock Ubuntu version, which is currently 2.1.0. I have tried on both X86_64 and ARM aarch64. I have been using Scummvm for years, and I have never encountered this bug with any other game. With the GOG version of G...

Re: LibRetro Shaders

I also thing that RetroArch shaders are what Scummvm is missing right now: games look SOOOO authentic with scanlines+curvature shaders... Really needed for Apple II and Amiga games, for example, so the games look as intended back in the day. Why not just merge LordHoto's solution into the main code?...

Aaaaand here we go!
A working, opensource Thumbleweed Park engine that let's you complete the game to the end, with some small bugs:

https://github.com/scemino/engge/tree/v0.6.0-alpha

I think this belongs to the almighty Scummvm, it's the destiny! :D

Myst ME (GOG) - Can't select spanish language on GUI

Hi there, Back when Scummvm started supporting Myst ME, I went and bought it from GOG. The game is in spanish, among other languages. Today, I re-added the game in Scummvm, and I can't select it's language on the GUI: I have to force language=es in the scummvm.ini entry for the game. Things seem to ...

Re: Any update on shaders?

Is there a reason for not merging braindx shader support to mains Scummvm code?
I also love shaders. As Scummvm is now, games don't look as they did back in the day. With shaders, they would.

Delores engine (Thumbleweed Park) partially released. Does it mean...?

Well, what are you thoughts on this?

https://grumpygamer.com/delores_dev

Actual release is here:

https://github.com/grumpygamer/DeloresDev

So...Does it mean that Delores engine could become part of Scummvm (if reimplemented I guess)?
