There is no official re-release that uses clv or cl3.

As clem pointed out, we don't help with illegitimately obtained games.

I would try changing those printf()s to fprintf()s and see if it errors out on any of those cases (unless you can already somehow catch these printfs, of course).

I wouldn't be surprised if it couldn't set the 160x120 video mode...

Hmm, it could be that this game uses more memory than the other FF games.

An easy short-term solution would be doing a new ScummVM build with the other engines disabled. This should free up another 4 or-so MB, which may be enough to allow this game to run.

Yes, it uses "Virtual Theatre" and no, it's not straightforward to support this game because of that.

The engine used is similar to Amiga BASS (which isn't supported by ScummVM).

BS2 for GBA was actually developed shortly after BS1 and reached alpha/beta stage, but as no publisher could be found it was never completely finished / released.

As most people have already stated; there is absolutely no technical reason (and I say this as both a ScummVM and licensed DS developer) why the floppy versions of these games couldn't be "ported" to small (8-32MB) cartridges, and with some effort, even talkie versions of anything up to, a...

Lol... well, it just finished! My file size went from 1GB to a minuscule 1.5GB! That's some awesome compression right there. You are probably looking at the sum of compressed AND uncompressed files. If the compression succeeded you can delete the uncompressed versions. i.e. the SPEECH1.CLU and SPEE...

"Diskette based"?
"Diskette" is Dutch for "Floppy" :)

Try deleting the game entries from the ScummVM launcher and adding them again.

I don't think it detects it smaller than it really is, but rather you forgot to paste the last digit. I have the same version and I get this: Your game version appears to be unknown. Please, report the following data to the ScummVM team along with name of the game you tried to add and its version/la...
