Off the top of my head? Change the scaler options (Options->Graphics->Graphics Mode). You have a choice in there between various filters with 2x or 3x magnification, pick the one that will suit you best.

EDIT: Oops, took too long typing that in, got beat to the punch :)

I said "run" and I meant "run" :) That's a "launch successful" result, I didn't say it was playable. It hangs at the very start, once the intro ends and we get to see Wally and Guybrush. Which is pretty much your result, minus the crash. A hang is more fun than a crash,...

but nowadays most of them come from germany Exported ones, you mean, surely. Tony Tough is Spanish-made, IIRC, Microids is still French last time I checked (or do Syberia and Paradise not count as point-and-click?) and Russia's point-and-click development is booming as well. Granted, none of our st...

What would help is if you'd tell us and the honorable porter whether you're using the CD or floppy versions, and if it's the CD, are they the of the compressed (MP3 or OGG) or uncompressed variety, because each has its own degree of memory requirements.

All of the 2 cents that I can offer here.

2 cents. On the older UIQ3 models this error most often means an out-of-memory error, i.e. the program couldn't load a file it had tried to, for some reason (which the OS will most certainly refuse to tell you, I'm afraid). Except that on the older UIQ3 models there IS a memory shortage, and on the ...

Lack of MIDI hardware can be countered by ScummVM's internal AdLib emulator, no? I'm not familiar with Debian, but the wonders of cross-platform applications is that they work almost the same everywhere. B-Sides, I always liked the AdLib sound over soundfonts...

Maybe you should turn the sound ON? Granted, you won't hear it, BUT -- if your system is strong enough to run WinXP, the miniscule requirements for running the sound won't affect anything except deprive you of this error :)

Don't forget, ScummVM supports only AGI games by Sierra. That meants Space Quest 1 and 2, King's Quest 1 to 4, Police Quest 1 ... And the original, EGA versions at that, not the VGA remakes. That's the trick, see? Only the really old stuff. The newer games use the SCI engine, which is the reason for...

Occasionally, the local software market is a good place to look. I mean, there are local re-releases of various games supported by ScummVM available here and there. We in Russia, for example, have the Broken Sword games and some of the Humongous Entertainment games readily available in many retail o...

My point exactly. Just one more piece of advice: for the Symbian version, OGGs are nicer than MP3s for some reason. At least for the UIQ. Beats me why, though.

Yes, but don't forget that to get in-game music for MI1, you'll also have to rip the audio tracks from the CD.

You're apparently very new to this mobile phone stuff. You get the Series 60 version because that's what the Nokia phones use. UIQ is a Sony Ericsson and Motorola thing. You then use the Nokia Application Installer which is part of your Nokia PC Suite software to install the SIS file you'll download...

Don't know about the PPC port, but the Symbian UIQ (which is also a touch-screen-driven OS) has a "left-button/right-button" switch in the SDL-provided buttons in the bottom right corner. THe one with two boxes, one white and one black. The white one defaults to the left position, which me...

Am I right in thinking all the games have to be on the phone memory rather than the card Er... no. As far as ScummVM is concerned, it doesn't matter where the games are stored, but common sense dictates to put them where they won't inconvenience you, and that means the card because it's BIG and int...

The characters at the bottom of the screen are the only thing you're supposed to use here. Use the left and right arrow buttons in the lower right corner to scroll through the list until you see the number buttons, then tap those in. You enter savegame names in the exact same fashion with these virt...
