Filehandling can be very very slow on flash file systems and ogg/mp3 are often reading stuff in very small chunks. When I am using cd music for MK1 for example, my MP3s are encoded in 40 kbps. So the smaller files/lower bitrates you have, the faster loading you will have. Ah, I see. Thanks for the ...

Are long initial loading times like these normal? If so, what causes them? Audio being compressed with mp3/ogg?

Really cool 8) Does that mean that The Dig works perfectly too on a N95? Or maybe it already did before? I wouldn't know, since the only symbian phone I have is the original NGAGE, but the rumored N82 looks mighty interesting for me, which seems to be a candybar N95. And I would love to be able to p...

I have the original release of Discworld Noir and there's indeed a copyprotection on it. I do not know what kind of copyprotection there is, but it's only compatible with Win9x so I had to use a cracked exe to play it in 2k/XP. As for the first two Discworld games, I never had any problems running t...

http://shortfilms.tk/ has a unofficial XP/2000 patch that will let you play the game on a modern computer. You will need this patch and a slowdown util (which is downloadable along with the patch) Good luck. Heh, I wish I had known that before. I played the game quite recently, and that with the he...

Now the biggest disadvantage is the "Joystick" from the N73. It takes some time to move the mouse cursor to the correct position and click. "Wak a Rat" in Sam&Max ins more or less impossible to play (or I have not found the trick so far ;)). Goetz posted a nice trick about t...

I noticed awhile ago that it easily went out of sync if one moved the game window around the desktop. Granted, this was with ScummVM 0.7x or 0.8x for Windows. Not sure how it is now.

Re: Indy3 CD?

But, the only Indy3 CD version is the FM-Towns version which is VGA. Indy 3&4 were re-released in UK and scandinavia (and possibly the rest of Europe), which includes PC VGA Indy 3 on a CD. Don't think there are any differences between it and the VGA floppy version, tho. It's the smallest CD ga...

I have plans on getting a N73 in a somewhat near future. Will The Dig also have this memory problem, or will it work? Where can one see how much RAM a phone device have? Nokia doesn't seem to have the info available in their technical specifications . The only thing mentioned there is the storage sp...

Umm, none of the ScummVM games require the CD to be used if one copied all the data files to the hard drive.

A Dark Engine remake would be pretty cool. Way out of ScummVM's area, though. Thief 1 & 2 and System Shock 2 are powered by the Dark Engine.

Aye. It's a buggy mess. A new executable would be very welcome.
