Re: How to make ScummVM portable?

No, it won't work, because ScummVM is always looking for its configuration file (scummvm.ini) in your user data directory (c:\users\<foo>\appdata or something). I made something like a "portable" version some years ago and the method I used still works today. However, there might exist a b...

The old installer places stuff in c:/Program Files (x86)/ScummVM, a native 64bit installer would place them in c:/Program Files/ScummVM. People upgrading from pre 1.5.0 would lose their savegames if we just clean out that old directory post install. If that's true then it's already a bug in ScummVM...

Mission Supernova

Hi, anyone ever looked at these games? http://superalf.blogsport.de/2012/03/28/mission-supernova-andromedas-erbe-download-mirror/ I stumbled upon that site by accident and remembered playing the game a lot back in the 90's. However, it looks like the game logic is hardcoded in the EXE file. I wonder...

Now that the Xeen engine is integrated into the main ScummVM repo, is it okay to already report bugs on it? There's still that strange bug right at the beginning, when you turn around, enter the tavern and look at the wall to the right: the wall animates through various different wall-types whereas ...

At least in Visual Studio, building the 64bit version out of the box fails with the provided (generated) solution file. There are some missing defines that are required for 64bit (FPM_64BIT for libMAD and SCUMM_64BITS for the director engine, although from reading the source code it looks like the l...

So, is the whole source code re-created from studying the assembly code of the game? Because it sure looks like it, it's quite hard to follow ;-) The game still seems to be crashing a lot when you click on anything though, but it's nice that almost everything seems to already work to some extent (co...

I very much welcome this decision. Didn't realize it was such a recent one (had I asked a week earlier, the answer would have been different ;-) ) I'm very much looking forward to the Xeen engine since (at least for me) running Xeen in DosBox is very buggy to the point that it either crashes the gam...

So is this still a thing? I see some recent updates wrt. DungeonMaster in ScummVM, but the RogueVM source code has not been touched for a while.

Is RogueVM now being incorporated in ScummVM itself?

Or just on hold?

thanks

German Game "Falsches Spiel mit Eddie M"

I recently found this pretty unknown game called "Falsches Spiel mit Eddie M", which is a German point-and-click Adventure made by Stern Magazine sometime in 1994. http://imgbin.org/images/thumbs/ext16478.png http://imgbin.org/images/thumbs/ext16479.png http://imgbin.org/images/thumbs/ext1...

I had similar problems when burning with anything other than DiscJuggler.

I think it uses some advanced CDI options that all other programs ignore (like session-at-once, which is required for DC discs IIRC)

No, it wasn't. It got "hacked" for pirating only. And my guess is that this "hack" is actually a secret key used by Sony for fixing consoles and not a real hack. It's now known that this "hack" is actually exploiting a buffer overflow in the PS3 USB stack. So it is a h...
