Re: Grim Fandango Remastered being made by Double Fine!

I think they're concerned about matching the cutscenes... but, if anything, Grim Fandango Deluxe showed you quite some leeway when it comes to the models. I never thought they clashed when I played with our Manny, and he's pretty different from the cutscene version.

Re: Grim Fandango Remastered being made by Double Fine!

I just can't believe they are sticking with the old models from 1998... So it appears GF Deluxe will still have it's relevance after all. It's surprising and disappointing, isn't it? The models weren't great back in 1999. It's not like anyone is going to complain that Manny's sleeve isn't a rectang...

Re: GrimEdi - A tool for exploring/modifying Grim Fandango

Works great! (I thought I had the x64 bit version of Java installed, but either way, the new version fixed things for me -- thanks!)

Re: Grim Fandango Remastered being made by Double Fine!

Hmm. It's VERY disappointing if they're not even doing to fix the terrible hands on the models. At this rate Grim Fandango Deluxe will still very much be in business once the Remastered version is out, which is a shame. I had dreams of the models looking absolutely wonderful, but instead they've bee...

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't see the 3D renders?

Re: Double Fine is making Grim Fandango Remastered!

Hmm. Looks like DF aren't actually updating the models... only the textures and lighting?

Re: GrimEdi - A tool for exploring/modifying Grim Fandango

Do you have links to any executables? It's great that it's in Github, but it would also be great just to be able to download and play with :)

Grim Fandango Remastered being made by Double Fine!

It crossed my mind that there might be people visiting these forums, looking for a modern take on Grim Fandango, who might not be aware that an OFFICIAL project to do just that has been announced -- by Tim Schafer himself! This fan-made project has pretty much stopped development until that version ...

Re: Project is still alive?

I think it would be accurate to say that the project is on hiatus while Grim Fandango Remastered is being made by DoubleFine... I'm sure everyone is eager to see what DF/Tim Schafer create.

Whether or not the project will continue after it's been released... we'll just have to wait and see.

WOW! Undoubtedly this would be an incredible help to Grim Fandango Deluxe, but also to anyone wanting to just explore the game's assets. Again: WOW!
