but you must have people doing that already, no? Well, cappuchok and I have been trying to find who owns the copyright (which we thought was Eidos/SCi). Ender does most of the "hunting" and is going to look into it now. I only wish SCi would reply to our e-mails. Seeing as how I have reci...

Also, these new Scumm 2.0 interpreters were only released in Europe (by Activision). Aaron Giles suggests on his website that all US residents wishing to see this engine released with games in the States contact LucasArts and tell them so.

The "Entertainment Pack" released by Activision throughout Europe consisted of Full Throttle, Sam & Max, both with the Scumm 2.0 interpreter by Aaron Giles (LucasArts' Mac guru, MAME developer, now at Microsoft's Virtual PC team), Grim Fandango (which already had a Win32 binary) and Th...

Re: Adding a new Game

There'd be a bit of legal mumbo-jumbo to be worked out for that, and my employer might not like the idea anyhow, Just a thought here, me not being a developer and not knowing what game we are talking about here, but if the game is not currently playable under Windows XP or Vista, I can see no reaso...

Do we want to fix bugs that existed in the original game? Because if so, there is a serious bug in the original game (in the scripts, presumably, because it appears in this port as well) that will render the game uncompletable: <spoiler> In the cathedral at Rouen, when you are supposed to use the ro...

Hi all, I just got a mail (well, got it a month ago, but it was in my 'public' spamtrap, so I only just read it today) about Touché. Happy to help in any way I can. Hi Ben(n?), and welcome! I'm sure we're all glad to hear from you, as it's not often we actually see forum posts from the original dev...

Re: Different versions of Touche

Also, does anyone have a contact with the people who made Touche? There are several (or at least two) of us here on the forum who have tried getting in touch with anyone who may be or know something about the current rightsholder for "Touché". What we do know, courtesy of MobyGames and Wi...

I'm asking myself if this would legitimate the bypass of the copy protection screens in e.g. Future Wars? While I'm no expert nor a lawyer, I would interpret the text referenced here to mean that you can circumvent software checks of hardware-based copy protections (intentional erroneous disk secto...

DOSbox is an emulator of DOS Or, perhaps more precisely, DOSbox is an emulator of a simple x86-based computer with a simple sound card and various other peripherals, complete with an emulated DOS on top. This ensures high compatibility with many games without reimplementing each game engine, but it...

Me too. I also went upstream from Eidos and tried SCi instead. Still awaiting replies, though.

This is really interesting news - has anyone been able to track down the original authors and inquired as to their opinion on supporting the port (possibly with source code or other insights) or even re-issuing the game as freeware? I looked into it a little. The publisher U.S. Gold merged with Cen...
