Re: What's up with the legacy platforms?

I am wondering why people still bother to keep porting ScummVM to long time dead platforms like the Amiga or Dreamcast. I guess it's mainly because they can. I'm actually surprised that Dreamcast is still getting new releases and old Xbox isn't. The main reason I liked to have ScummVM on a console ...

Ok, so what exactly do you do from the save point on, to achieve the glitch? I tested your save file, and the only things that didn't show right were the knitting lady and the doorway. The glitch generates some random results and knitting lady's clothes are coloured wrong. The first time I loaded th...

Which version of Broken Sword are you using? I'm not sure if the PSP version of ScummVM is capable of running the PlayStation Broken Sword, but if you're using that instead of the Windows version, maybe that's what is causing the problem? It's just a guess, though. I haven't tested any version of Br...

The latest custom firmware available at the moment is the 5.50 GEN, [unless I missed something, and there is a 5.55 out, not that it matters much to you] so you'll either have to downgrade back to 5.X, or wait until a 6.0 version of the cfw appears - which for some reason is taking a bit longer than...

I bought the EZ Flash V 3 in 1 about a week ago. It's still in the mail, but once it arrives, you can expect some info on how it runs with my R4 on a DS Lite. I have just recently completed Full Throttle on PSP, but I feel like playing the game again. I'm really interested in how the destruction are...

This actually didn't bother me that much, and I imagine those used to Alone in the Dark or Resident Evil games wouldn't mind the controls either.

Well, I'm certainly getting a bit fed up waiting for it to be freewared; Think of all those games that won't become freeware. How does that make you feel? In those cases, no matter how long you wait, you'll never be able to get a game for free. Look at the bright side - Discworld should be freeware...

Thanks for the tip. Recently, I started following WadjetEye Games' Twitter, and I knew they were giving away free copies of Shivah, but I thought they had to supply a personal code. Never cared to check their webpage, so I missed this news. Seems like you posted this just in time.

I can't answer why it's running slow. I have played COMI on my PSP and it's run perfectly, but I can answer the crashing issue. No matter the emulator, whether it be SNES, Gameboy or what, if you put the PSP on standby, it won't continue emulation. More than likely because once it's off it can't lo...

If you're not sure which files you need to copy, you can always consult this list . To get Full Throttle to work, you need to copy all of the files listed, preserving the original directory structure - The DATA and VIDEO files have to be placed in their respective directories, just like on the CD. I...

People want it because it's so much better to use the mouse rather than the arrow keys. How lazy can a person be? Haha. Years ago, I had a chance to play this game, and I thought the "mouseless" experience was ok. I don't know if I remember it correctly, but I think you could make the crossha...

Too bad DarkXL isn't open source since its developer has no intention of supporting Outlaws at this time. Making the code public might just increase a chance of someone picking up an Outlaws project.

(...) Nintendo has stated that flashcart readers for the DS are technically legal, and are still legal if you are playing backups of games you own yourself, but NOT to play any sort of game you haven't personally made a backup of. It's a bit off topic, but that's really surprising and unlike Ninten...

There is one thing I don't understand - There are numerous Sega Megadrive / Genesis emulators out there, and some of them offer a near perfect emulation. These are not exclusive to Windows PCs and you can find a MegaDrive emulator for most of the platforms. Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Symbian ba...
