Much better: Shan's Soundfont

maybe i'm wrong, but imho General Midi / MT-32 / etc. is for music only. The only driver (and the only "real card" which can do (very poor) music and sound is adlib / soundblaster. i've never heard of a game which can use midi/mt32 for SOUNDEFFECTS :shock: I've never seen a DOS game where ...

id software sells their classics (doom series, commander keen series, wolfenstein 3d, heretic and so on) over steam.

the big question is:

is lucas arts as "generous" as id is?

i can't explain why, but i don't think so...

i used to play with mt-32 emulation, but the silverspring soundfont just sounds awesome

on http://soundtracks.mixnmojo.com/ you'll find the whole soundtrack, i think the tracks are ripped directly from the enhanced audio version. you won't find a better version. if you really want to have "your" midi-version of the soundtrack, the best solution is, as you mentioned, recording...

would it be possible to use soundfont-files with fluidsynth?? cause i tried to get two different soundfonts to work with scummvm, unsuccessfully .... i can't tell my soundchip to use a font (no option in software) and if make the right settings and point to the soundfont-file in scummvm, it doesn't ...

do you have a green (floppy) or a purple (from mi2) user interface?

if it's purple, it's the enhanced audio version and you have to rip the tracks from cd to mp3/ogg/flac

It's a fan production, so remember two things: 1) It will take forever to finish, if at all 2) LucasFilm can shut it down any time they haven't stopped the maniac mansion remake, they haven't stopped the new adventures of zakmckracken, they haven't (yet) stop zakmackracken - between time and space....

so you're saying you own the original english cd-version with audio tracks AND the german floppy (cd)-version without audio tracks ?

you can patch the englisch version with audio-tracks into german.

search google for lucas arts patches... second search result should help you.
