I don't know how it worked in the original game engine, but in ScummVM it seems to work like this: If I let the intro run uninterrupted, it randomizes the birth stones. This happens at the point where Brandon first enters. If I interrupt the intro, it randomizes the birth stones at the same scene, a...

For special cases like this, if there's no other solution, you could force the background to be 4:3 for the duration of the cutscene. Not a perfect solution of course, but better than no widescreen support at all, I think. Which may be easier said than done, since the game logic is stored as compil...

That sounds like the kind of thing that could easily cause a lot of unforeseen glitches. I'm just speculating here, but for instance, if a non-player character enters the scene, he might not even exist beyond the original edge of the screen, or it could mess with the composition of the scene. One ex...

Not being familiar with the game engine, I don't know why these changes haven't been included in ScummVM yet. Because cleaning up the branch is a time-consuming effort. It will be merged eventually. I think my current effort is about halfway done cleaning it. That's what I thought. I hope I didn't ...

From what I understand, the version released on GOG is an extended version, compared to the original Macintosh version of Pegasus Prime, and relies on some additions to the game engine. I don't know about the GOG version, but I'm pretty sure that the source code for these additions were included wit...

Re: Indiana Jones Fate of Atlantas and Kings Quit.

I don't think I understand. There is a tool that does this but its really just so you can get the files out not repackage them back in? Also there is no tool you know of that does both? The purpose of compress_scumm_sou is to create a smaller audio file that's still compatible with ScummVM. To do t...

Re: Indiana Jones Fate of Atlantas and Kings Quit.

So that means that I'm gonna have to do this artificially rather than exploiting a glitch. That's why I've come to y'all, BSD said there was some tool that allowed you to unpack the audio file from Fate of Atlantis so I can manually mix them up. Does anyone have this tool or a suggestion of a game ...

- Make the program directly look for OGG files instead of first trying flac and fla. Well, then you're back to creating the specific kind of audio stream I mentioned earlier, I guess. - There is a way to check if the sound is still playing and another one to stop it? When you started playing the au...

By the way, with what I said, do you think as a developer that maybe you can help me with a little piece of code that just loads and play (or streams) and mp3 file? I guess it would be just a matter of opening the file, using the Common::File class. That class inherits from Common::SeekableReadStre...

If anyone wants to finish them I'll gladly help explaining the code and how the games work etc. I hope you'll find someone. I'd love to help, but I doubt I'd be able to do more than little things, at best. (Though I do have a couple of different versions of Prisoner of Ice, so I might at least be a...

Under "Graphics mode"? It just means ScummVM uses OpenGL for drawing. It shouldn't affect the game's graphics at all. From what I understand it can be better when running games in fullscreen, since - unlike other graphics modes - it isn't limited to scaling the graphics to exactly 1, 2 or 3 times th...

I don't know anything about the Android version, but I was under the impression that the Last Express engine in ScummVM was very much a work in progress and that only the first part of the game was playable.

Re: Tinsel engine adlib warnings

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I understand what you are saying here, I wasn't aware of the xmidi format and that would explain the control error messages. I will check my local pc settings but so far I think that it is only the Tinsel engine that causes the error, I will investigate furth...

Re: Tinsel engine adlib warnings

I am having a small problem When playing Discworld I. There seems to be a constant adlib warning scrolling in the scummvm status window: warning: AdLib: Unknown control change message 11 (###)! I think that's because the music is in a format I've heard referred to as either XMIDI or XMI, which is a...
