Re: Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: Compressed Game-Data-File

So my question is: can I use these compressed files to play? If not: is there perhaps a ScummVM-Tool (like the ones used to compress files for LucasArts games) to change the compression? The compressed files from the CD version I have seem to work, at least, and I was under the impression that the ...

ERROR: (6:220:0xFD78): INIFile::loadFromStream: Key/value pair found outside a section in line 1! Sounds like the ScummVM configuration file (see the README file for information about where it should be on different operating systems) is damaged. I would guess that the first line is neither a secti...

It's been ages since I played the game - I don't remember if I ever played it in ScummVM - but filing a bug report and attaching your savegame might help someone to reproduce and diagnose your problem.

Re: scanlines in OpenGL and resolution

first, is possible to use scanlines with OpenGL?¿ i will love to have real scanlines for EGA games, but my CRT is 31khz, then i need to emulate them I don't use the OpenGL modes myself, and know very little about it, so I could easily be wrong. But from what I understand, there isn't any such featu...

Is there any word yet on how close we are to getting DVD video support in Zork: Grand Inquisitor? The DVD video is a huge improvement over the CD version, and most people (including me) never had access to it when it came out. Hard to say. There is already support (disabled) for playing the hi-res ...

plus one to include the directory separator It looks like that logic might be broken if the DOTT game path already includes the separator? It seems that's the case in the Windows version of ScummVM, but not in the Linux one. I naively assumed it would work the same way in both. I think I have fixed...

Re: Maniac Mansion in Day of the Tentacle (ScummVM v1.8.0)

Does ScummVM require a specific file structure or folder labeling system in order for this feature to work? What it does is to take the path for the current game (i.e. Day of the Tentacle), and then it looks for another game where the path starts with the same path. It removes all the characters of...

but still all those text adventures supported with Gargoyle are left out in the cold? Yes, it's my semiannual bid to urge the powers that be to reconsider that particular decision. As long as ScummVM doesn't have any clipboard support, I'd much rather use Gargoyle for that kind of games. It's nice ...

Probably the latter. (Compiling under Linux should be pretty simple. I don't know about other operating systems.)

Should I currently be able to 'enable' the .vob movies (but without sound) or not at all? No, those lines in the game engine have been commented out. There have been some experiments getting the audio to work, but last time I checked it would get noticeably out of sync with the video after a little...

I would suggest that few people have the Mac versions of the game and thus detection entries have not been submitted. I have English Mac versions of Leisure Suit Larry 6 and 7, but I didn't think the SCI engine had progressed far enough that they were interesting yet. It's too late at night for me ...

Re: Steam In-Home Streaming and ScummVM

I do not have any games that require 1.7.0, so I will just use 1.6.0 with "OpenGL Conserve" Graphics mode. BTW, I had to google for the 1.6.0 binary as I couldn't find them on ScummVMs site. I don't know anything about the original problem, but as long as you're looking for an official ScummVM buil...

Anyway, is there any major differences in graphics or music, aside from the character video close-ups? Here's a YouTube playthrough of the 3DO version of The Case of the Serrated Scalpel. I've only looked at bits and pieces of it myself, though. Edit: I forgot to mention that extracting the files f...
