I'm currently writing a remake of King's Quest II in the SCI0 engine. It runs fine in DOS, but in FreeSCI there are a few glitches when interacting with water as if it's not interpreting the script code exactly as it should. So these errors would be inherent in ScummVM as well unless the problem is...

I understood that SCI1 vga engine has no tool to develop new games (there's a half abandoned project).
SCI0 has full tools (sci studio) to develop a new game that in the future may run under scummvm...

anyone confirm?

Underlaying engine

It's clear that we are talking about the engine of freesci that it's used also by some sci tools to develop new adventures.
Which one of these tools may be used to develop a new adventure that may be played with the future release fo ScummVM?

FreeSci version to be used for a new adventure

There aren't many reliable sources on SCI information on the internet. That's not one of them either. There's no SCI2 or SCI3 and the interpreters from QFG2 and the EGA version of KQ5 are not interchangable because QFG2's interpreter supports a parser while all versions of KQ5 wiped the parser from...

Compiler

Let me know when it will be ready.!
seubz wrote:Yes, my compiler is in a usable state (it's about 90% done I'd say). I haven't updated the SVN for ages though, and still, no editor yet ! When I update the SVN (soon), I'll include an example ready to be used with ScummVM.

Re: Licensing issues

Is you compiler ready to b tested? I'd like to bump this thread and react on sev's post about the licensing issues he talked about. As you said sev, SCUMM was a script creation utility. I'm the author of ScummGEN, and I think that what I'm doing is a copy of what SCUMM was at the time, even ...

Great tools do not ensure great (or even good) games. Indeed. I think the easier it gets to make games, the more bad games there'll be. Sort of like how blogging changed journalism  There's a difference between no tools and raw tools  Every professional developper built usefull tool to re...
