Sorry for having been out for so long, but I got a new job and adapting to it consumed a bit of time. Also, the new computer doesn't recognize the HDD with all the important files. Still, the filterchain used for this was renewed and I remember the filters and settings by heart. Therefore, if someon...

I see. I'll try to have a DXA encode of the new filterchain using clem's suggestion. Having a new version of the encoder that accepts AVI files as input would be a great thing to have though.

What I'm asking is wether simply altering the .bat file to take a single .AVI instead of a series of PNGs would suffice to make a .DXA out of my lossless intermediary files.

I finally found a way to avoid the yellow smudges while keeping the image quality. As soon as someone answers my last question, I'll make a full DXA encode of the intro.

The Bink FAQ says that it supports AVI input, so the only thing I'd need to do is modify the .BAT file, right?

Thanks for the encouragement, it's much appreciated :). I'm currently trying to find a way to convert back to 8 bit color with as little image quality loss as possible. After that, I'll scour the web for a DXA codec (so that I can encode using VDubMod rather than a standalone application) or at leas...

spookypeanut: I haven't done that yet, mainly because the filterchain still needs tweaking and also because I don't know where to find either a DXA encoder or the DXA codecs themselves.

clem: thanks :).

That's weird. By the way, I forgot to answer your question: I used RAD Tools to extract a lossless AVI, then ran it through an Avisynth (a freeware nonlinear editor) script with some filters.

Thanks for the compliments, I hope to be able to improve them a bit further :). spookypeanut: bestsharing holds the links for quite a while before expiring, so simply try to download it a few more times. If what you meant is that you can't play it back, I recommend you to uninstall any and all evil ...

Sorry for taking so long before an update. Here are a couple of comparative screenshots of how Broken Sword 1's intro looks like: http://xs217.xs.to/xs217/07281/Comp.png The yellow smudges on the left of the second after pic are due to filtering issues I'll correct soon. An x264 encode will be uploa...

spookypeanut: like eriktorbjorn said, my intention is to remove the artifacting inherent in the source files like macroblocking and banding. eriktorbjorn: since the previous versions of the cutscenes were MPEG2s, I assumed that ScummVM could read any format so long as had the appropriate DirectShow ...
