Wintermute is used by Abborado Studios in their forthcoming Once Upon a Time in Japan , which looks very promising. According to the developers of the game, Wintermute has a lot more potential than AGS. About AGS, it's even used in some commercial games of a few years ago but not open-source. I don'...

That's the magic French Touch: strong start, poor ending :) Fable was interesting and I liked the artwork, but overall it was rather weak in terms of gameplay and atmosphere (my biggest disappointment). And the ending was a bad cliché, so bad that Simbiosis had to release a later version with a diff...

The source of the wiki page indicates the header is UTF-8, but all the non Latin 1 characters on the page look messed up. A couple of corrections for the French versions of Humongous games: 1. Pajama Sam is "Sam Pyjam" ("Pyjama Sam" appears on some later boxes, but the kid is always called "Sam Pyja...

My most warm-hearted congratulations to you all. ScummVM is one of the most unique retrogaming projects in existence. Its closest competitor in terms of scope and philosophy would be Gargoyle (Spatterlight), except Gargoyle is nowhere near as dynamic as it could be if it were open-source. That, and ...

Indeed, that makes quite a lot of work for just an alternative soundtrack. But I'm curious about MaxTrax. Are you saying the ECS floppy version uses this format? Because, as far as I can tell, the CD32 music files are plain ProTracker MODs.

Sorry for the delay. Here are some quick recordings of the MT-32 vs. the Amiga. They mostly illustrate how the two versions are quite different in many places. 01. Cave Paintings [MID] 01. Cave Paintings [MOD] 08. Sanctuary of the Orb [MID] 08. Sanctuary of the Orb [MOD] 13. Stargazing [MID] 13. Sta...

First-party games (ie. Sony's) are region-free, but any other publisher can decide to lock their titles for a specific market. I don't know if that has happened yet.

Ok, I finally listened to the digital pack (I hadn't realized the update was compatible with the original DOS version, at least from a ScummVM point of view). As far as I can tell, this is no remix at all, but a straight recording of the MT-32 soundtrack. Which, apart from a couple of pieces ("Cave ...

i feel firmly that with the crappyness of eu consoles your much better off importing one and saving like £250(since ps3 games a region free) Indeed, but I'm not sure all PS3 games are region free. And the new 80 GB US and Korean models are shipping without the Emotion engine, so the software emulat...

Indeed... which is the case for most point & click adventures. I hope you do realize that games are not supported in ScummVM only by sheer Voodoo magic.

If you don't specify any config file via the command line, the default path is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\ScummVM

Depends. As we all know, software emulation is the way to go. And the PS2 software emulator (which will be soon mandatory in US models as well) is behaving not too badly right now.

Since I mostly use the Modern Ice theme, I took the liberty to update it to the current version. I know zilch about skins, but it works for me and so far my monitor didn't blow up on me. Your mileage may vary.

I'm not sure, but is the Amiga music any better than the digital music that Wyrmkeep made with their second ITE update? Cause that digital music sounds very good to me, at least. I didn't hear the digital remixes, so I can't compare. But I seem to remember that they were remade by Matthew Nathan hi...
