ScummVM....how about some smooth scrolling in ScummEngine?

Hiya, I've been looking at the latest version of the ScummEngine and it looks like the main game world update still uses an integer based delta. With this approach, I don't see how I will ever get more than 10fps out of my game (apart from multi-threading the sucker). This is how I think it basicall...

Unfortunately, this port seems to be in violation of the GPL. I'll hope you fix that quickly, by (a) releasing the full source code, and (b) adding the text of the GPL and directions where to find the full source code to the binary archives you offer for download. BTW, your README says "Coded: 10 N...

May I ask: What exactly did that hard work involve besides recompiling? And why does it have to be thrown away, can't you just apply the same changes to 1.0.0 (and ideally, put them into the form of a patch which you submit to us, so that the next ScummVM version works better on your system out of ...

Yes I can see that point of view but I was just hoping someone would say 'I know that one, it's an easy fix all you need to do is....' :D I was told that the old version I ported would able to run DOTT with any big problems but it turns out that is not quite correct  So now I'll have to throw a...

If only it were that simple :) This is a port for classic AGA Amiga's which are not powerful enough to run the later versions of ScummVM, that is why I'm using an older version. I've done some debugging and it's getting stuck in script/script_v2. It's just calling soundKludge over and over again. if...

DOTT Cuts cene bugs

Obviously this is going to hard to debug 'remotely' but I've got some problems with the screen going black and getting 'stuck' in cutscenes (I'm using a very old version of ScummVM BTW so it might be an old known bug). 1. When you use the crowbar on the vending machine, the guy starts picking up the...

Hi,

Yeah it looks like case 15 (param == 1) sets up the loop when the second argument is a positive number...so, thanks again.

Hiya,

Thanks that 'hook jump' may be exactly what I was looking for :D

Yep I can see that the 'correct' way to do it is to create a new MidiDriver class but my game is a quick and dirty hack of other peoples hacks

If I get time, I'll do it properly using the latest version of ScummVM.

The 'auto looping' turned out to be a mistake as some music samples are only meant to be played once, oh well worth a try. Here is my do_command code, can anyone see why music is not restarted? This do_command code is just for DOTT BTW, I know SAM & MAX etc uses some of those 'stubbed out' commands....

Hiya, Yes I saw the soundkludge code and I have routed that to the do_command which I think that is calling stopsound, but it doesn't always call stopsound and when the music expires it doesn't ever seem to call startsound again? I'm currently just getting all the music to loop and then whenever a n...

DOTT Midi playback

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble working out how MIDI files are played back in ScummVM for DOTT. I'm using an older version of Scumm BTW. Anyway I can see that sometimes music files are stopped but a lot of the time 'stopsound' is never called, does this mean that each time a new music 'sound' is req...

"classic amiga" refers to all the amiga models originally made by commodore (tho the later of those models were also manufactured by amiga inc), and running operating systems from 1.x to 3.x - the name is used to distinguish them from later computers made by other companies, which used very differe...

Hiya guys, I can't go the hardware midi device route as this would restrict my port too much (most of us classic guys don't have that kind of hw). I haven't tried Timidity yet but I was also under the impression it would be too much of a load on the average 030/50mhz 64mb AGA machine. I already have...

MIDI to MUS conversion

Hi, I'm working on a port of DOTT to the classic Amiga. The Amiga doesn't handle MIDI very well so I'm using a DOOM based MUS player. Although I found an old DOOM utility to convert MIDI to MUS files (called Midi2Mus...very strange), what I really want is some C source code that I can add to my port...
