I use a ESI Romio II USB to MIDI interace with Windows 7 64bit and, as I said, never had any problems. Not in DOSBox, not in ScummVM.

I didn't require any drivers. Windows 7 had them included (or could download them from Microsoft's Windows Update servers - I don't remember exactly).

Ah, thanks, MusicallyInspired, I forgot that there were MTBLAST.DRV as well. :) You're right, of course. But still, it is just so much easier to use ScummVM. I don't know, dknute, but I've got an CM-32L and I never have any problems. Not in ScummVM and not in DOSBox - plus, I don't need any delaysys...

Yes, but you cannot choose two soundcards, can you? So it's either soundeffects (for which you have to find a working .DRV as it wasn't included) or MIDI-music.

But, dknute, I'm starting to think that it might be your device that has some sort of hardware-failure.

It looks like I'm the only one who doesn't like this. I think it looks horrible. Don't get me wrong, I like upscaling low-res graphics as much as any other man but, in my opinion, so far the only filter that "works" is 2xSAI. I realize that all screenshots on this site are made with the HQ...

Cruise for a Corpse - MT-32 support?

Hey guys!

Cruise for a Corpse is one of my favorite detective adventures.
I noticed that ScummVM still doesn't support the awesome MT-32 music.
Are there still plans to include that?

Thanks a lot!

I'm using a CM-32L which is essentially a MT-32 and I don't have any problems. The thing is, if I remember correctly, NOT to select MT-32 but "Windows MIDI" and your MIDI interface (I use a cheapo USB-thingy) and check "True Roland". The thing is, Space Quest 3 sounds fantastic i...

Doomer, your mind seems to be set on this. No need to subtly insult others. Fact is, times were different back when most Sierra games were made. And also, there was no internet back then and I solved all of them without walkthroughs. You know, through you - excuse me if I say so - rather narrow mind...

You call Syberia a masterpiece? It's a nice adventure (I actually find to be rather mediocre if it wouldn't have been released in a time where there where practically none) nothing more. Play some real adventures like "Gabriel Knight" to experience a real masterpiece. Sierra games are not ...

I had this slight problem - I don't know if it's the game's fault or ScummVM's: I forgot to visit the pod-room in the Draracle caves so I never got Lora as a companion. No big deal, I thought, but suddenly, after visiting the Draracle, she's there and leaves the caves with me. I'll restart the game ...

KQ6 is actually rather well designed and usually offers one other option. Basically, make sure you've shown Jollo your ring before giving it to Cassima. Make sure you have all necessary items before entering the catacombs (they will offer you to go and collect them). And make sure you have all neces...

Why are these games not adventures? They are!

Elvira can be party controlled with a keyboard as the arrow keys can be used to move around.

Gabriel Knight 2 and 3 also don't have any dead ends. Gabriel Knight 1 has one at the very end. King's Quest VI has one or two real dead ends but you are usually warned before you are thrown into a location, where there is no exit (for now). I don't remember any real dead ends for the Conquest games...

A really good question. However there is a lot of subjective perception involved. Personally, I think that a real MT-32 (actually, I use a CM-32L) produces softer and more beautiful music even for games that have been made with General MIDI in mind. When it comes to Maniac Mansion, there are two Non...

I'm sorry, that ad said "What game made you ride with Outlaws?" And the reason you cannot find it anymore is because it meant "Desperados".
