Yeah, it's not the prerendered graphics per se...one just feels completely out of place when playing the trilogy in a row. You could say the same about the music then. The digital music of Malcolm's Revenge stands out a lot when compared to the midi music of The Legend of Kyrandia and The Hand of F...

I don't know many people that thought the other two were very good though, so maybe skip them, haha. Well, you know what they say. If you are able to have a working engine supporting all the Alone in the Dark games which ran in the original engine you are aiming to, why dismiss Alone in the Dark 2 ...

Wouldn't it be easier to study source code of Free in the Dark project instead? The engine has been fully reversed. Eugene Unfortunately that project is pretty much in an early state and it has been abandoned since long ago. I would love having Alone in the Dark support completed (it's far from tha...

That Kyra1 CD fan-translation detection bug is indeed annoying, but I can't remember anyone reporting it so far. I can try to make a fix that the version isn't detected as CD Demo anymore. Of course, that won't make the version supported. Do as you prefer, even if that's not solving the game detect...

Also what language (and game) are you talking about in specific? Spanish. Regarding Westwood games, I'm missing The Hand of Fate the most, as ScummVM doesn't detect either the Spanish floppy version or the fantranslated CD-ROM version. The Legend of Kyrandia has the Spanish floppy version supported...

English and German. Thanks. The same compatibility issue with all Westwood games. :( What are you talking about? I'm talking about unsupported language versions of the Westwood games, of course. It's not possible to make ScummVM running them, because the game is not even detected. Other game engine...

Oh, sorry. I said that because of what's stated (and therefore implied) in the Compatibility section of the game. - PSX version is missing music support I don't have this version myself so I can't check it out. To solve the music issue, wouldn't it be a possibility to use the enhanced music tracks o...

Are the Sega Saturn versions of both games expected to be supported anytime soon? No. A bit more thorough explanation: the tinsel engine is made up of several parts: - the game logic - the graphics subsystem - digital sound output - synthesized music (MIDI) Recently, there has been a lot of work on...

Maybe it's just me, but I usually prefer the General MIDI renditions you can obtain through a Yamaha XG device rather than those of a MT-32.

Then again, some games lacking native GM support don't get along well with anything that isn't a MT-32.

We had our hands on an original copy. Lucky you, because that one is also very difficult to come by. Let's hope someday there's the chance to have an original copy of the Spanish version of The Hand of Fate at hand (no pun intended), in order to grant it official support. It would be easier if it w...
