Re: antialiasing setting on grimfandango

Add a line reading antialising=X in the grim-win section of your residual.ini file (look in the readme file to figure out where to find where to find it), where X is an even number (I find that 16 works best but you may want to play around with it).

What am I supposed to do? Spoon feed you what can be found on the Internet when you obviously have an Internet connection and have demonstrated the ability to use it?

I'm still confused... does the bold bit above suggest that this will really be a browser based game? No. You'll have to go through the Kickstarter updates yourself (because I won't do it for you) to verify what I'm saying, but they do say that the game they intend to make won't be browser-based. Th...

The fact there is no details what-so-ever about the game may be making people gun shy. I don't know if that's it. How many details did Tim Schafer give out? None. Went several hundred percent over goal. Al Lowe? Everything. It's a Larry 1 remake. Got just a little bit over goal. So I don't think ho...

This one seems to be in some trouble, though. Nine days to go and not even at 60% of their goal. Tex Murphy is three-quarters there with 13 days to go, and probably will make it at this rate, but the Two Guy? Looks iffy. Maybe it's a case of too many AG Kickstarters too close together. I doubt that ...

You could always scan the file with antimalware software, but the notice you've got is probably a false positive (since I've never gotten a warning on the installer at any time up to and including today). Just for kicks I uploaded today's Windows installer to virscan.org and none of the engines it q...

Which is more than 700% of the desired goal. I keep thinking of The Producers. I put money into it. Does that make me a little old lady looking for one last thrill on the way to the cemetery?

Maybe I'm strange (maybe?) but I don't think I've ever timed my gameplay. Not even in largish units of time like days or weeks. But, just on a feelings basis, more-recent adventure games tend to be shorter than those from the '90s, and shorter-again in the '80s. There are exceptions. Full Throttle i...

The elevator-doors problem is a Grim Fandango problem, not a Residual problem.

Like I said, I find the effect so subtle that I hadn't been all that sure I was hearing it. I think, for what it's worth, that epmode is probably right that the effect is at the start of a clip. If it happened throughout, it'd be much more noticeable, especially in the music. So it's possible that i...

OK, so I'm not crazy. I've been hearing this, too, but it's so subtle I've never really been sure: little pops or soft clicks or something, kind of like the effect of having dust in the grooves of a vinyl record. (Yes, I'm dating myself with that analogy, but at least I don't have to buy myself flow...

There is already a project creating an interpreter for Dark Forces and Outlaws. Why should Residual duplicate that effort? And why did you call those games "antecedent"? Although Dark Forces and Outlaws preceded Grim Fandango in time, I wasn't aware that they shared the same engine. In fac...

The name change seems a little odd to me. Granted, it's a done thing, but it still seems strange. Scumm was the name of LucasArt's adventure-game engine. Residual is a joking reference to the engine used for GF and EMI. If the name was going to be changed to bring it closer to ScummVM's, I would hav...

Since CDs were the standard by 2000, I'm pretty sure the seller is a fraud banking on the stupidity of other people. He should go far in either business or politics.
