Well, I didn't expect that exactly. I would have thought that if the app couldn't find something it needed, it would have been a library I got through Fink. It's possible that the fact that you've got 10.4 and I made my build on 10.5 probably has everything to do with that. I thought that maybe I ha...

I make no guarantees that this will work on your computer. I think it will. Just click here to download. Assuming it works, you'll want to follow the directions on the ResidualVM website for copying the needed files to your hard drive and just use the ResidualVM GUI to find the folder you put them i...

If a game can be said to be based on North by Northwest just because the main character enters someone else's hotel room, then Post Mortem, Ultima VII Part 2 and LeChuck's Revenge must be based on North by Northwest. It's a pretty slender reed to support such a connection, I think.

I wonder if i can mount 2 drives on different subdirs and the game will recognize it on cd change... Maybe i should also ask for a RFE on dosbox to make normal mount also "change discs" if started with two dirs. Talking to oneself is sometimes seen as a sign of senility. Not according to ...

Jo Ashburn is Cap'n Tripps. The rest must be noncoms. Or not. Who knows? Who cares?

Re: What made old 'sound' so good - and why is it hard to g

I've herd terms like 'midi' and roland' come up alot. Why is it with all the 'next-gen' speakers and soundcards we can't replicate that sound now? You'll get more technical answers from others, but one major problem that affects MIDI is that over time where and what which instruments are slotted in...

I definitely think ScummVM needs networking support. It's about time that the insult sword fighting deathmatch feature of The Secret of Monkey Island is playable again.

Or is that something I've only hallucinated?

ScummVM isn't an emulator. It's an interpreter.

Because he wouldn't be the one to do it? But maybe that's unfair. Maybe he's a coding genius and knows what he's talking about. It could happen.

Broken Sword and Google Earth

Looking through the Google Earth Gallery, I spotted one called "Grail Seekers: Knights Templar Site Mapping Project". I downloaded it and looked at just a few things so far, but most especially at the remains of St Ninian's church. I got a laugh at the fact that, while BS1 gives the impres...

Anyway, the Doctor Who games will be available for sale worldwide in time. No idea when, but my guess is after all the games are released in the UK.

You could build it yourself. It's not that hard in Linux since everything is readily at hand through the repos for your distro. I do it myself in Fedora and Mac OS X, and I haven't even mastered walking upright yet.

Beware! Swotty perspective on IP follows. Run away! Of course, copyright changes a lot of things; but, historically, reworking something someone else has done is really the norm. Take the Trojan war as just one example. We have the Iliad , which is only a telling of a few days near the end of the wa...

The first of the Doctor Who games is available...but only if you are in the UK. And, yes, there are ways around that but apparently from what I've seen elsewhere the game checks to see whether or not you're in the UK when you try to install; of course, there are ways around that, too. But like I sor...
