I'm not sure if I'd actually play that way either, but with widescreen monitors being the de-facto standard, it might be time to find a better solution than either stretching or borders, especially considering that the actual game area already is widescreen in a lot of supported games.

I don't see how this would be a "fan patch". It's not a change to the game itself, but to how the interpreter renders the UI.

That's not what he meant. The idea is that, if you could cut off the areas of the screen that are reserved for the interface and inventory and overlay them only when needed, you'd end up with an image that is much closer to a widescreen aspect ratio. http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8416/mi2ws.jpg E...

The same goes for most SCUMM games. It sounds like a great idea, but a pain to implement.

Have you been able to try connecting your iPod (or anything else portable, i.e. running off a battery, without an AC adapter) into the line-in port? If that gives you a clear signal without any hum, all evidence points to a ground loop between the MT-32 and the PC. In that case a new sound card won'...

The MT-32 has its own power supply too, so that still leaves the possibility of a ground loop. So for further troubleshooting: Does it still hum when nothing is plugged into the line-in port? If not, does it hum if you connect your iPod to the line-in port? It would also be interesting to know if yo...

Well, the main reason I'm getting a new soundcard now is because my old speakers were ten years old and dying so I bought some Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers that currently produce a loud hum at only 30% of total volume. I tested the speakers with my iPod alone and they sounded fantastic with no hum at...

A crucial bit of information missing here is what operating system you're using. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, most audio processing is done in software (the exception being OpenAL, and workaround tools like ALchemy and 3D SoundBack to restore EAX/DirectSound hardware support). That said, everythi...

Re: DS/3DS port?

Hello. I saw the DS port as an unsupported file, and I just got a new 3DS, so is there any way to install the DS files onto the 3DS (Like, through the SD card???)? No. If not, then I'm asking for a supported 3DS port (without needing firmware/exploits/hacking). Not going to happen. Games/apps need ...

No need to jailbreak. You can extract ipa files with any modern unzipper.

Sorry for bumping this topic with no answer but why taking so much trouble if part 1 and part 2 of the gerne are currently available on the apple store? The "Director's Cut" of part 1 that is available on the app store (and other platforms) has significant changes in content and gameplay ...

If piracy is their main concern, I wonder if we'll see DRM-free versions on GOG or DotEmu anytime soon. FWIW, I think the main issues of the DS version of the first game were the lack of voice overs and, to a lesser extent, the tiny resolution. The iOS version was far superior, and significantly che...

It's a matter of consistency. If you have a list of features that you can enable and disable with a checkbox, you shouldn't reverse the meaning of a "checked" box halfway through.
