Re: Remastering speech using Adobe Enhance Speech AI?

Thank you for this tip, the idea itself is great! I immediately had to test it with some audio files. First I tested it on Simon the Sorcerer 2 German version. The recordings were back then really badly compressed and thus are missing a lot of pitches. Furthermore the original files are confirmed lo...

Re: Discworld import original save game?

ScummVM savegames are usually not compatible with the original gamesaves. Even my savegames from back of 2009 with ScummVM are not compatible anymore. Sorry, but you have to start fresh.

Re: Testing Blade Runner with ScummVM

Was anyone expecting anything else? It looks like they did exactly what was expected they can do. Background upscaling is really not a job for the Newbie Dev. and looks like that this was what Nightdive did after they realized its too hard to do.

Re: Discworld: Failed to query the CD TOC: 21

I can't reproduce it with my Game files (German Neon Edition). Not sure whats wrong, I would suggest to copy all files again, maybe you missed one file? Anyway, you could also try using James Woodcocks Soundtrack , which is also supported by ScummVM, as the issue seems to be related to Audio Tracks ...

Now where Residual is merged, I would also love to see Normality. It was such a nice 3D Adventure (for its time)

Re: *UPDATES!* ESRGAN AI Upscaling (HiRes packs now possible!)

For Broken Sword, I would recommend to use the Director's Cut videos as source. The videos are completely recoded from the original source and thus have way less artifacts, which should especially benefit at the explosion and the balloons. I actually used the DC video for the upscale. Ahh, OK. So i...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

It's true, that portable apps don't need to use an installer. But unfortunately, most of the portable apps I am downloading actually use an installer. I don't know why, but it seems like its also quite common for portable apps. And I agree, I am also irritated because of this, as I don't want to ins...

Re: Did Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis predict the future?

Phones as multiusable tools were likely thought off since they were invented. Because you were finally able to transport the speech, but you still miss the important part of human communication by not seeing your other side. So I am quite sure that since at least TV was a thing, inventor worked on g...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

I think this would be making it overly complicated for the 99% of users that don't care about a portable installation. Also, this setting itself must be stored somewhere, Total Commander uses the registry for it, which would again run counter to the "portable app" idea.... That's why you ...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

Sure, but ScummVM is since years not anymore a portable software per se. The Windows Installer is the official preferred method. But I definitely would also like to have the "Zipfile" version declared as fully portable.

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

the portable parameter sounds actually nice, maybe you suggest this behavior in the GitHub as enhancement . With the ini file in directory is for me actually a nice and smart idea to solve the issue we discussed. BUT the problem is, that this is not good coding style you should use for a public soft...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir

The problem is that ScummVM always will look by default to the %Appdata% folder. So there are two solutions for this: 1. You create a batch file with the command to point to another ini file, which was already given by Praetorian, dariwonka and me. This is the easiest solution and most compatible, y...
