Re: Big adventures ahead - Little Big Adventures

This might as well be a limitation/bug of the wonky DOS CD redbook audio limitations thou, maybe someone else knows in detail? There's no such limitation. Sure, there might be a second of seek time where a game would freeze while the drive would cue up the track again but this would vary from syste...

Re: How can I get 4:3 aspect ratio with all rectangular homogenous pixels?

I succeeded in a thing like this last year: https://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?p=87055#p87055 Interesting point about the OpenGL+aspect ratio thing. Gonna have to try it too at some point and see if it'd be as good or even better. Usability wise it would be, for sure. My solution is fiddly but...

Re: Scaling above 3x for a authentic, fullscreen experience

I would love to see some pictures of this. He-hey, just as I stopped checking back daily. ;) Here we go. I had to re-create the 1920x1080 padding in the screenshots because obviously running the display in 1280x1000 that's all a screenshot will capture. But you can see that's what it looks while ru...

Re: Scaling above 3x for a authentic, fullscreen experience

Just returned to ScummVM and couldn't find agreeable display modes in the 2.0.0 release. Searching for "ScummVM pixel perfect" got me back to this old thread and I'm happy to report that with the new stretch mode options in the nightly builds I was able to achieve the best picture since le...

Just out of interest: is there a virtualization package that would allow it to work on a Linux guest OS on a Windows host machine?

For the lightweight and easily kept-up-to-date solution, you could just create ScummVM shortcuts with the appropriate icons and launch parameters for each game. But if you want something self-contained that's easily transferred from system to system and backed up, I'd suggest looking into a Portable...

This may still be preferable. I know I personally prefer sacrificing overall image aspect ratio of a low resolution video game for pixel fidelity. One thing I've experimented with image editors and would like to see in emulators and reimplementations is independent integer multipliers for the horizo...

I think your resolution of 1600x900 is preventing most filters from working as they operate on the original image's pixels multiplied by 2 or 3 horizontally and vertically. The 2x filters for example would scale CoMI from 640x480 to 1280x960 but this doesn't work (at least not in full screen on Wind...

The problem I face is that to access the game menu, you must press the F5 key. Only this key, Windows 8 (my OS) opens the paramettres pane to the right of the screen. Is this a laptop with special prioritized functions on the F# keys? If so, you should be able to hold down the Fn key while you pres...

You might be able to disable the notifications from the display driver's settings, usually found from a system tray icon. I also read somebody being able to do that by right-clicking the notification itself.

Neat. Does it get the list of IDs from ScummVM or is it hardcoded and so automatically requires an update when ScummVM game support expands? One suggestion would be to show the command line that is being generated for the shortcut, especially if you plan to add GUI for more options.

I wonder what the engine(s) used here are. And a bit unusual seeing the platform coverage; DRM-free on Windows only but it, OS X and GNU/Linux are supported through Steam. Interesting times.
