Re: Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers
ScummVM has a lot of its own built-in bug fixes for many SCI games (and others), so just the original version from the CD should suffice and play without issues.

If that is the case, then there's probably two possibilities. Either you were sold a bogus/bootleg copy, or you have a version that has not yet been added to ScummVM. In the former case it will never work with ScummVM, but assuming it's a legit copy then the ScummVM team would likely be interested i...

You don't need/want to run the installer for any game you're running with ScummVM. For SCI games, just copy the entire CD to a directory on your HD, click add game in ScummVM, point it to the directory you copied everything, and it should be added. More detailed instructions are here: http://wiki.sc...

Having said that, once I get the whole release process for 1.9.1 and onwards sorted out I'm willing to also create 64bit builds for Windows. There is however a non-trivial amount of work involved in making 'upgrades' from a 32bit to a 64bit installation work smoothly for all users. I don't expect t...

I completed Conquests of the Longbow (DOS/English) OS : Windows 10 x64 ScummVM Version : 1.10.0git159-g9e9617b (Oct 4 2016 17:00:37). It is completable (did both good and bad endings, and most deaths and optional bits), with no noticeable regressions. Thank you very much. Just added you to the rele...

I don't really have any time to progress my Linux testing or to learn how to compile ScummVM myself because of a recent close family bereavement. At the moment, ScummVM is just a happy distraction for me. I would suggest trying the following: Open up a terminal in Linux and enter the following comm...

Though part of the error is cut off, it probably means that you have an unknown version of the game.
You can submit an issue to the bug tracker with the info in your error message and the devs will likely add it if it's a legit version.

I can't *really* help as I don't have Windows 8, but you might consider trying a daily build, as they often have newer bugfixes included.
