You can potentially use any mp3's you like but you would have to edit and name them so that they match the tracks in the game and also make sure they loop correctly. Tom's mp3's will be better quality if you fancy a go at it but he doesn't have recordings of everything (e.g. all the sound effects) s...

You could get one on a "buy it now" but you will probably end up paying far more than in an open auction. Having said that, I bet it will still be cheaper than it would have been back when these games came out. If you want a free option, there is my patched version of scummvm over at http:...

I can't promise I'll get anywhere with it but I'll have a look at an on screen message. I picked the button combination I went for because there is a potential issue with virtual keys getting stuck on. i.e. if you hold left trigger it's mapping to esc which will be in a keydown state when the mode c...

I agree with Bluddy. There isn't a need for an ini file, we just need an alternative control scheme for this one game. An ini wouldn't be all that simple anyway when you have some buttons changing the function of others. I'd not kept my code unfortunately so I've had to start from scratch but I put ...

I removed the "LOL Mode" some time back to get the port to compile after you redid the interface code. I never did get around to putting it back in as I figured that there would be a better solution once the engine was done. If thats not going to happen then I've no problem reimplementing ...

I only ever played these games in DOS. As far as the 7th Guest goes it must be my memory playing tricks on me. It's a long time since I played the game and I only had minimum spec the first time round so it could have been quicker after I upgraded. 11th Hour definitely does speed up though. I've jus...

I think this probably did play faster on a Pentium. If I remember right, the video with audio was obviously played at a set frame rate but anything without audio (i.e. puzzles or walking round the house) would just play as fast as your computer could cope with. That was definitely the case in 11th H...

The MIDI cables only carry MIDI instructions which is why you can't hear anythimg. You also need to run an audio cable between the mt32 and your MAC from the l and r output sockets to your line in.

I'm not saying its the case here but the last time someone asked me the same question, they were actually trying to run the floppy version.

I'd second Bluddy's advice anyway. It's not likely to be anything to do with settings - you should be able to leave them on default.

I'm getting the same thing on a phat with a build from a few days back. I'm fairly sure this didn't happen in older versions but it's not a game I've played much yet.

If you've already bought them you can register on the site and they will send you some other gift instead. No idea what it will be yet but I'm not about to turn down anything free.

I remember a specific problem with BS2 crashing in one spot (also after playing a movie) being caused by the lack of memory. Removing a few engines from the build cured it at the time. 1.0 won't be using plugins so this might be the cause if xsimmonsx is using a phat.

QS has had permission since 1996 I never knew that. It's nice to see a large games company being helpful for a change. Maybe it would be possible then although Sierra still haven't released the copyright I gather from the FAQ. The soundtracks on QS wouldn't be ideal as they stand. There are tracks ...

The way I understand this, there isn't going to be offical support for enhanced soundtracks as Sierra would effectively have to release the soundtrack into the public domain. Sites like Quest Studios or Sierra Music Central are tolerated but are technically breaching copyright by distributing the so...

Thanks a lot for this Bluddy. I've given it a fairly good go on a few SCI games. I had every intention of playing all the way through Space Quest 3 but unfortunately restoring a game in SCI crashes the PSP within about 30 seconds in the latest build and those Sierra games have far too many deaths fo...
