Re: No music on Mixed-Up Mother Goose VGA CD

My copy is one of those discounted “Slash” releases from the late 90s, although the CD is printed with a release date of 1992. It is funny because it looks like an original CD from the early 90s, but Sierra is misspelled as Bierra, so I realized something was amiss. It is still a legit copy of the g...

Re: No music on Mixed-Up Mother Goose VGA CD

I experienced the same issue in ScummVM 2.1.0.

No music will play, although the digitized speech is fine. I tested with default settings and also with overrides for Adlib and MT-32.

The VGA floppy disk version works fine, so only the CD-ROM release appears to be affected.

Re: Macintosh music in SCI games

Yes, I am re-opening an old post. However, I wanted to check on the status of this issue. Macintosh music in the Sierra SCI games still does not sound right, even in ScummVM 2.1. The sci_sound fork is still available, and works perfectly, but it builds into ScummVM 1.10.0. So there is a choice betwe...

Re: ScummVM 2.1 - macOS crashes

I also tested in Catalina (fresh installation) and got similar segmentation faults, partial output below: Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000018 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY Ter...

ScummVM 2.1 - macOS crashes

Is anyone using macOS Mojave 10.14.6 experiencing crashes in ScummVM 2.1 when switching between windowed and fullscreen mode?

I am getting various "segmentation fault" crashes when switching with the option-return keyboard command - usually when going from windowed mode back into fullscreen.

Re: Unable to compile daily build in macOS 10.14

Thanks for taking the time to investigate this issue. I can confirm that the changes you made have resolved the problem. I have no problems compiling with the standard settings in Mojave 10.14.6.

Re: macOS daily builds

Thanks, I was not meaning to apply any pressure if it's not a straight forward process. The service is appreciated and I hope that there will be a solution in the future when you can find the time to investigate it further.

Re: Unable to compile daily build in macOS 10.14

I have no idea what could be causing this on your side, but you should be able to bypass the issue by using --disable-iconv in your configure options. Thanks for that suggestion - that got it to compile successfully. Whilst I did migrate my account over to my new Mac, I had thought that a fresh ins...

Re: Unable to compile daily build in macOS 10.14

It has been a while since I looked at this, but I recently upgraded my Mac and I can no longer boot back into High Sierra to do manual ScummVM compiles. I started by re-installing Mojave, followed by a clean install of Homebrew (and all supporting ScummVM libraries). I also reinstalled the latest SD...

macOS daily builds

With macOS 10.15 Catalina only weeks away from release, which entirely removes support for 32-bit binaries, I am asking why the build bots are still defaulting to 32-bit?

Also, is it possible to compile a 'fat binary', i.e. 32-bit and 64-bit executables within the same package?

Re: Monkey Island Ultimate Talkie EGA?

I'm sure you're right, it would nice if it could be hacked to use graphic resources from EGA though (it mentions something about bug fixes in EGA version in the UT documents) I had UT setup to use Roland music. I removed the monkey.001 file and the game would not start up. I then dropped the LFL an...

Re: Monkey Island Ultimate Talkie EGA?

Is it possible to use Ultimate Talkie with the 16-color ega version of MI? It is unlikely, because the UT edition website lists the following requirement: "A VGA compatible graphics card for the DOS version". Also, I think the UT builder would be looking for data files that came with the VGA versio...

Re: Better Music for GM ScummVM (and DOSBox) games

Thanks to feedback I've received, I put the current version number next to the download links. I'll also be adding a changelog page. Don't worry though, I'll still make an effort to keep this thread updated as new versions are released. I was unsubscribed during the forum upgrades and have not been...

Re: Tandy sound quality in AGI games

Oh, thank god. Everything sounds great again!
Yes, I used a daily build and I now cannot tell the difference between the ScummVM and DOSBox emulation of the Tandy sound. Good to see it fixed.
