Re: Simon the Sorcerer - Merge Talkie with Subtitles

To clarify, and save you wasting more time: MojoTouch added back the subtitles in a few scenes, via nasty hacks (see their source code for more information). They are still using the original data files from long ago...for their so called 25th Anniversary Edition. The English subtitles can't be adde...

Re: Lure of the Temptress - catastrophic path finding

Don't give me the sob story, it was 5 years ago I last mentioned these problems to the project leads. An email to the previous direct contacts at GOG & Revolution Software, to explain the problems, and get the package at GOG updated to DoxBox in the meantime, was all that was required. If that h...

Re: Lure of the Temptress - catastrophic path finding

A rough timeline provides a better explanation: The game was added to ScummVM The game was stated as 95% complete, due to known issues (especially broken sound) never been documented. The game was bundled with ScummVM, on GOG, due to working with Revolution Software. Reports of the path finding issu...

Re: Lure of the Temptress - catastrophic path finding

Unfortunately, your message has done exactly the opposite. The level of discouragement for the developers who spend months on rewriting Assembly into C++ was only increased with your post, a post full of disrespect and attacks. I am sure, it was not your intention, and you're passionate about the g...

Re: Unable to run daily snapshots

That error usually means a DLL mismatch on Windows, like using a 32 bit DLL with a 64 bit program.

Try deleting the SDL.dll and SDL2.dll files, and downloading the correctly Runtime Binaries from http://www.libsdl.org/index.php

The discussion above, was specific to the console window in the Windows port only. The console window was made optional, and logging was added in the Windows port as a result. It sounds like you want the option of logging (rather than console window) on other platform(s), which is a separate issue. ...

Why bump such an old topic? changes were made, and the discussion is out of date There is already a command line option (--console) and config option (console) to disable the console window under Windows. ScummVM is offered with and without the console window, via the Start Menu, when using the inst...

There is no AGA version of The Secret of Monkey Island.

The Amiga version of the Secret of Monkey Island was only 32 colors, and there was a rare release for CDTV too.

Try the Windows Daily Snapshots I provide, which should hopefully provide a recent working ScummVM version.

Unfortunately ScummVM 1.9.x used a different build system, and I'm not sure what extra requirements that caused.

You managed to uncover a unique bug though, which has been fixed now. So hopefully people won't have problems switching between 32bit and 64bit Windows builds of ScummVM in the future.

I meant add a bug report for the exact error you get, when using my Windows build of ScummVM. We can't fix that error, without knowing the specific details. The Windows builds on buildbot are only meant as backup for Windows, and the lack of updates are due to the system currently running low on dis...

Okay, I see what you mean but I never look at : Win32 ScummVM Daily Snapshot - Provided by ScummVM Team member Travis 'Kirben' Howell, updated several times daily because I find the Win32 build always crashes with an application error on my Win64 machine. As indeed did the 12 February version you a...

Was there actually an Atari ST demo of Maniac Mansion? the *.prg file is missing, so I can't check via emulator.

The md5 checksums match the full AtariST version exactly, so I wonder if someone just stripped out the files required for the demo mode of full version.
