I really like the idea of enhanced soundtracks and once started a project like this with real instruments, but that ended up being too time consuming. So I was glad to follow your project and appreciate all your work. :) For my taste, there's still too much reverb and compression on those tracks, wh...

Great news and good work! An options dialog like that was sorely missed. :)

Thanks for your reply! I guess that's true for most scalers. I assume it only gets problematic with the TV2x, producing odd scanlines. You probably know what I mean. :)

Aspect ratio correction before graphic filter is applied?

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been adressed before, but is there a way to have the aspect ratio correction applied BEFORE a graphic filter is used? The problem is that the scanlines of the TV2x Mode get scaled with aspect ratio correction on, which doesn't look too good.

@tsoliman: I never said that I own an MT-32 or use Munt, but I do know what both sound like, real and emulated. And I know the difference between synth-based and wavetable-based soundcards perfectly well. I've been using both as a musician back then. BTW, the MT-32 uses synthesis AND samples (e.g. t...

Thanks for your quick reply! The reverb-effect is definitely there when using Fluidsynth, but it sounds very unnatural and cheap and it seems to be limited to some kind of simple, closed-in room reverb. I suppose, that the fluidsynth libraries in their current status are limited in that way. The Mun...

Fluidsynth and reverb

Hello there! I'm using Fluidsynth for all General-Midi-compatible games in ScummVM, like Sam and Max. One thing that bothers me a little is that the reverb-effect sounds poor compared to my old midi-soundcards back in the day or the mt-32 emulation in scummvm. I don't know if anyone is working on Fl...

Although the undithering algorithm may not work perfectly, I think it does look nicer in terms of colouring. Of course, there's upsides and downsides, but I really like these kinds of enhancements.

I guess if you leave them optional it should make everybody happy.

It's too bad there's no update on this project.

But I was wondering, Revolution obviously had a backup of the source code for their games. So is it possible that the cutscenes still exist in a raw or uncompressed form? Same goes to the music, does a higher quality version of the soundtrack exist?

I would agree that it makes sense to pick up abandoned RE projects and give them new life. But I don't think that the plug-in system is the right solution. There are many users, who don't know how to compile anything. Adding LBA to a project like Residual sounds best to me, since it would be more in...

Hello everyone, I was thinking about a different approach on the Music Enhancement Project and I just wanted to see if there is any interest at all. I'm thinking about using more 'real' instruments, especially when it comes to guitars etc. I'm not planning to remake the same soundtracks James did th...

You're right, I forgot to mention that scene. I guess it must be a sync-problem in the original resources. But maybe the Scummvm-Team will fix this sometime in the future, since some glitches and bugs of original engines have already been fixed.

Sam And Max (German Talkie) - Intro animation too fast

Hi there, I've just stumbled across something that annoyed me from the beginning. In the Intro of the German CD Talkie Version of Sam And Max the animation of the evil doctor after the first cut is running way too fast. (the line is "...wirst du bruzzeln wie eine grobe Bratwurst.") I've ch...
