Perhaps you could rip the audio tracks to (bad quality, as to not get in trouble) mp3's. Then send them to someone who has the 'right' CD, and let them see if perhaps the tracks are just numbered differently but contain the same basic data..

Just a suggestion from a layman though.

Do I place the contents of both CDs into the folder (after renaming the speech and music files) or do I do them one at a time? Both CD's should be in the folder at the same time when you start the sword1.bat (or sword2.bat) file. Speech/audio renamed of course. Also I can't get Full Throttle to com...

Has anyone tried this with the Broken Sword games yet? I tried it out but it didn't seem to work. All I really need to compress are the big speech files. Since I don't own broken sword I had to make some guesses at file locations and so on. Guessed wrong, appearantly. Can you send me the output of ...

Re: some fixes

A lot of thanks for this compression pack/guide!!! It really helped me. :) I suggest to integrate this pack directly into ScummVMtools pack on download page when it's flawless. Ask authors with my recommendation. Heh, well maybe I need to build some smartness copying only one copy of oggenc ...

Re: Proposed FAQ additions

There have been a number of reports about ScummVM misbehaving on some hardware under Windows, but that these can be worked around by telling the SDL library to use different video and audio drivers. This information ought to be in the ScummVM FAQ but isn't. I have another suggestion for the faq: Q:...

Okay then, pulled out my full throttle CD, gave it all a try, and Im pretty sure this new version will handle both Full Throttle and The Dig right. Mind you I don't own the Dig, but I did play full throttle through till I was doing the mine runs (which might confuse scummvm with bad FLU files) and t...

Note about Full Throttle: if you compress the SAN files in the data folder, make sure that you also copy the FLU files. Check this bug report: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1390815&group_id=37116&atid=418820 Hmm tough to reallyreallyreally follow this. As far ...

Hi. I have done a bit of testing here. Cool, thanks 1. The simon directory should be named simon1 according to the bat file. Done! 2. The monster.sog file in Full Throttle doesn´t get moved because you use / instead of \. Fixed Also I don´t think it is a good idea to move the *.FLU files since new ...

I forgot there's a monster.sou in Full Throttle, added code for that. Fixed a few booboos here and there.

Whew.

OK I've now created a big archive file with all the zips and skeleton dirs to make your life a lot easier. Converting is now just a matter of a few clicks. I hope.

Let me know if something is plain wrong, not working, or if you have batchfiles for other games for me to add.

Ah allright, yeah the poor scummvm people are already quite overworked I'm sure.

Sorry, can't chip in. Id be hard pressed to even get a 'hello world' to work in C.

What about Goblins 2 and Goblins 3?

are these non-scummvm games? Or are you guys working on these? Or will they never be supported for some reason?

The ScummVM README file has information about it. I this case, I guess "compress_simon.exe --vorbis -q -1 SIMON.VOC" would work (assuming -1 is a valid quality setting), but I haven't actually tried it myself. That would work just fine, yep. I've updated my tutorial post to include 'how t...
