Re: Westwood and Discworld adventures release status?

Has anyone continued this effort? I think I remember some of the ScummVM people talking to Petroglyph for the implementation of the engine, but what happened to the freeware discussion? Most of the discussion we had with EA was rather about source code than a freeware release IIRC. I am also not aw...

Pledged, and looking forward to release date. Now I'm only sad I missed the Double Fine Kickstarter, but oh well... On a side note, Kickstarter really seems to be giving classic developers a new chance to return to their franchises, what with David Braben, Peter Molyneaux, Tim Shafer, Obsidian, Revo...

The Eye of the Beholder games use the KYRA engine, right? Do you think it would be good to give the KYRA games their own category now in the compatibility list? I think we have six of them now! IIRC, Mike Legg (lead programmer on the Kyrandia series) told me that the EoB games are not built on the ...

Westwood and Discworld adventures release status?

Hey guys, I've been out of the ScummVM/retrogaming loop for a while, so I thought I'd stop by and ask what's happening. Specifically, it would be interesting to know what, if anything, has happened concerning the possible freeware reissuing of the Kyrandia series and the Discworld games. I was sligh...

I have to admit CP peeves me to no end, the only people it ever stop are the 100% honest people who won't even dream of using a CP crack on a game. I'm not advocating piracy, nor am I condoning it, however I can understand the frustrations that lead to it. Partially why I didn't allow the manager o...

Awesome! Great work, all who worked on getting the source. I'll start digging through my closet to locate the discs and wait for the engine to make an appearance in SVN. :D Support for the full Kyrandia series, Discworld source code, arrival of the Pandora ... this is shaping up to be a great year i...

Not too many actually: * Various x86 and x64 PCs and laptops (running Vista, XP, 9x, $random_linux_distro) * GP2X F-100 * SonyEricsson G700 (UIQ3) I'll be adding Pandora (openpandora.org) to that list as soon as I can get one (I'm waiting for the "official" release though). Hopefully I can...

According to Kyrandia developer Mike Legg, there was an early Talkie version in which Brandon would swear before dying if you walked onto the lava bridge in the caverns. It was removed from later revisions.

Just to elaborate a little on Lands of Lore, I'd like to note to anyone interested in creating an engine for it (not within the scope of ScummVM) that looking at the ScummVM implementation of the Kyrandia engine may provide some useful code. According to Mike Legg, one of the original programmers fr...

... quite a jump from 0.10.0.Could that be the sweet smell of another supported game being re-released as freeware with the upcoming 1.0? Dunno, but it does make one wonder, doesn't it...
