Re: Thousands of games needing testing
Shivah from GOG also starts and the beginning seems to work. That's all of the recognised commercial AGS games I have that I know of. One unknown one was submitted to the bug tracker. I tried playing Unavowed with the open-source version of AGS when it was first released, and while it seemed to wor...

Re: AGS games run slow?
My current hypothesis is that ScummVM is doing screen rendering too frequently & redundantly. In debug builds, the method calls to split up the RGB of each pixel is taking up time, whereas with release builds it's more optimized and less noticeable. Sounds reasonable. I played through the first...

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences
The only puzzle with multiple solutions I know of is escaping the dragon's cave and the two slightly-different solutions I know of are present in the VGA. There are two different drafts you can use to damage the blacksmith's sword, but that's true in both versions as well. I can't think of anything...

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences
I think one of the strangest little differences between the EGA and VGA version is if you try to pick up the Book of Patterns near the start of the game. In the EGA version, Bobbin will say "This is the Book of Patterns that Hetchel lets me read sometimes. Better take it with me." and he d...

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences
Of course Prof. Moriarty has stated (thankfully) that he considers the original EGA version the definitive; and I wholeheartedly agree. Sadly, and quite annoyingly, no digital store distributes that one for some reason. (I do have the original box with the floppies and the audio drama tape though!)...

Re: Loom: EGA vs. VGA Script Differences
Firstly I want to ask if there's a quicker alternative; I guess it would be possible to use some tool to extract and decode the game scripts, but I doubt that's actually quicker than playing the two versions side by side and trying to find all the relevant object interactions. You probably want to ...

That's what I figured, but the Wiki currently says "*.exe".GoodOldGeorg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 5:33 am Only the game executable file is required: LBA.EXE, LBA2.EXE or RELENT.EXE for the US version LBAJ.EXE for the Japanese version![]()

Re: Gabriel Knight 1: restoring savegame is impossible.
I was able to reproduce the problem (or at least cause a very similar one) by removing the file called VERSION from my game. I guess ScummVM writes the information from that file to the savegame, but if it's missing it just writes random garbage there instead. I guess VERSION is a necessary file, bu...

Re: Tony tough
Riven should be ok, because left click and drag is working... mostly. It needs a fix to make it working 100% but, as is currently, there is still an easy way to make it work. Ah, I missed the "double tap" thing. Yeah, it works but it's a bit fiddly on a phone. Then again, if I ever make a...

Re: Tony tough
Unfortunately I don't own Tony Tough nor the Beavis & Butthead game. But I can see the issue on the Beavis & Butthead demo we have on the ScummVM site. So I'll try to debug with that one. It looks like the game expects to click and hold right mouse button and drag the cursor to select the a...

These three are also freely available at the IF-Archive . There is also, however, a re-release of Transylvania also available for free from the Graphics Magician website which isn't yet supported. Of the games on the Graphics Magician website (which, from what I understand, is run by the original P...

Re: The Red Comrades game series goes supported
Unfortunately, only the original Russian Windows versions are supported. The English versions for iOS and Android use a completely different engine. I assume the Windows/Mac/Linux version sold on Steam are the same as the iOS/Android version, since the description for at least the first part says t...
